LT wont have trouble in the mud. He played in a blizzard at Cleveland, and thats worst for a speed back. But i still wouldn't classify him as a speed back. He's the best all around back in the league.

Okey-Doke, the Scotsman with limited knowledge, but a hard season of double-headers and monday nights behind him, predicts:

Colts beat Denver. Purely going on the likelihood of Plummer making a daft choice and so helping out the awful colts defence. Turnovers will be key methinks.

Chargers beat Jets. Jets have Martin but the offensive play-calling so scarily conservative that touchdowns could be lacking. Also Chargers seem to have positive vibes round them and the NY media is circling high over the Jets.

Rams over Seahawks. Both skitso teams but after 4th quarter comeback early in the season I reckon the Rams have the psychological edge. Bulger's fresh and Mad Mike won't meddle enough to stop his team.

Pack over Vikings. Crappy defence all round but I reckon Grady Jackson is the key. No running game = limited passing game. Plus, it's Favre, at Lambeau, in the post-season.

Steelers beat Chargers. If Ben doesn't, Staley will, or the bus will. Big Ben has a cool head and experience around him, they have too much.

Pats beat Colts. belechik (sp) has outsmarted Payton before, I reckon it'll happen again. Also they now have a running game to speak of and I think Droughns will keep Manning an co. of the field for long enough to give the Pats the edge.

Falcons beat Rams. Because of Vick.

Steelers beat Pats. Becuase they ended the streak, better backs, better defence.

Packers beat Falcons. I reckon Favre and his team know this'll be their last real shot at it, I just think they'll want it more. Experience over Youth, in coaches too.

Steelers vs Pack. I dunno it's all about nerve and bottle. Pack's defence is ragged but unless Steelers depart from smashmouth and go aerial they won't take advantage of it. They have sheltered Big Ben for the season, will they take the training wheels off at the big one? Will he cope? I go with heart, Favre's glorious farewell.

Stupid numpty, I am:

Eagles beat Rams: cos of the skitso thing, mad Mike and McNabb

Pack beat Eagles. No TO = Eagles suck. No significant WR to give GB any deep trouble, unless McNabb goes scramble-tastic. Westbrook could cause problems round the ends but he won't be able to carry and catch for the whole game. Favre and co can get enough points and retain the ball long enough to win it.

droughns plays for the broncos not the patriots dillon is the patriots back.. and the colts have a better running game then the patriots and the colts D is better this year then last..

samas- LT the best all around back?
he had 1,335 yards averaged 3.9 a run with 17 tuchdowns and 6 fumbles
while he has some skill thats not the stats of the best all around back

by the way he only had 87 yards and 2 fumbles vs the Jets last time and that was in good weather...
curtis martin had 1,697 yds averaged 4.6 with 12 TD and 2 fumbles.. and oh yea he was the rushing champion.. oh and martin is only the second player in history to start his career with 10 1,000+ yard seasons

sorry, I always get mixed up with droughns and dillon.

I don't deny the colts have good run game, but the pats beat them last year without a really good running back, this year they do, and i think it'll help them with ball retention and so keep the colt offense out for longer.

The D may be better but it's still bad, 29th in the league if I remeber right. They are good at going after the passer but not as good stopping runs, another reason Dillon will be important. If the Pats run a fair number of traps on Freeney it might slow him down a bit and give Brady a second or two more.

I still think Belichek (sp) will get Manning confusing himself too.

There is the Slot Machine though. With the Pats beat-up secondary I dunno if they can handle him. Maybe over the middle, but out wide, I dunno.

Ben threw for over 300 yards, 2 TDs(or was it 1?) and set up a last chance Field goal in under 2 minutes against a better Jacksonville defense.

If they shut down the run, I have no doubts that Ben can perform.

IF we get that far...

No doubt Martin had the better year, if you look at the stats from the past 4 years from LT, you would see that he is the best all around back. He might not be the best rushing back with most rushing yards but if you include his recieving stats you would see he is the best all around back.
I never said Martin is no slouch. But i still think Chargers will win. Home field advantage (first in many years), awesome defence, LT, Gates and some fast WR's will win.
Jets have Martin. The QB is throwing like crap now (not saying he is bad at al) so they have relie on Martin, who i feel can be stopped by the Chargers.
The Pats secondary will get destroyed by Manning.

As a Steeler fan, out of those teams, I'd rather see the Jets and the Patriots so, your predictions are probably right.

i dont like the eagles but saying they suck period is stupid and ignorant because they are a damn good football team..

benching everyone for the last 2 games and therefore havign a 4 week break is a bad idea i think and minus TO they are in trouble but Pitsburgh was the only team that beat them other then the final 2 games when no one of importance played..

wtf is this "franchise tag" talk? what exactly is it/what does it do?

I can't remember what the exact rules are but I think what happens if a player gets a "franchise tag" they get top pay for there position for one year and any team can sign the player but they will have to give up their first pick in the draft.

Yah, i didn't understand that either. The running plays i felt were more to get the best position for the field goal, not to get a TD. I felt it was stupid. The game was fun to watch and the Jets unfortunatly will get beat by the Steelers.
Colts though were awesome.
And my choice the Vikes won. Yes, 3 out of 4 aint bad. But i hope they get beat next week.

a franchise tag is pretty much giving giving an unrestricted free agent a one year deal of atleast the top five players at that position in the league. Any team that would want to sign the player would hav make an offer of more money and would have to give up prolly to top draft picks to recieve the player. Pretty much if a player is slapped with the franchise tag, chances are they are going to play for that team.
