Lol, that reminds me of the time when back in like I believe late 2001 or somewhere in 2002, I was posting at smashboards that Peach was Top 5 in SSBM and everyone there thought I was a lunatic or "scrub" for stating that, with only 3-5 people who felt the way I did.

All I know is...the truth has been shown, Peach was in fact Top 5 in SSBM, and I remember going back calling out all the fools who said I was wrong just that, lolz, good times. Not to mention I also said that IC's where waaaay better then Middle-Tier then too, which was another thing that came out right.

However, who knows, the SSBB tier list will definitely change as more years are thrown into it, you've seen this in many fighting games, and although some are almost set in stone within a few years, some change just not drastically. "If" SSBB is anything like SSBM, then expect the tier list to be modified, especially since this game is still fairly new.

Some characters who were not considered good, someone may find something for that may possibly push them higher up, while others who where very, very good may drop slightly.

Umm...I wouldn't say that seriously, one of my bros was a very polished Marth player during SSBM, and within SSBB, I was able to actually pick Metaknight and contend with his Marth in SSBB. Given Marth is toned down, and definitely nowhere near the Beast that he was in SSBM, but still, my brother had far greater knowledge prior too and was struggling against my Metaknight.

MK is very effective, has good smashes, great specials, and is very difficult to kill. Given I haven't played enough to even start breaking down MK's strats, but you can start tweaking out which characters are good and which are not once you start seeing the properties of their hits and some experiments.

I mean, MK is not crappy at all, characters who have "predictable" moves but with super high priority, we have seen before in magnitudes of other fighting games.

Grrr....I've tried playing it yesterday night, when some of my buddies came over and wanted to play for fun...sigh...I knew it wasn't going to be fun, but it would get super serious as soon as the game started.

It's so frustrating, when you play Link...and you are playing better then your opponent...however Link is just that bad...that you simply lose most of the time, not because your not good...but because Link overall just isn't that great of a character.

At this moment, I am seriously bidding to switching to Toon Link, just so I can have more success, because Link is giving me a complete headache just trying to make him compete.

yeah the bomb and arrow buffs are awesome.. but wtf @ nerfing Up+B, his grapple hook has such a tiny range, and he doesnt even have nearly as much KO power as he used to (and I dont think he even had that much KO power in SSBM compared to others).. and dont even get me started on his gale boomerang.. I mean.. the secondary effect is neat... but its still just a pile of shit

I honestly was going to consider subbing link in brawl.. but it hurts sooo bad to try to play with him.. he's like a 2-ton weight with nothing in his arsenal to make your opponent think twice.. I mean hell.. at least ganondorf has d-air

I agree, his Up+B was only solid in SSBM, and it had a fast start up but poor recovery, so their was a high risk to it, not to mention it wasn't even that powerful to begin with, considering in comparison to other attacks for KO potential, it was only slightly above moderate.

His bombs aren't bad, but his boomerang is just completely pathetic on so many standards, and as much as they buffed the arrows, they aren't nearly as useful as the bombs or boomerang.

The boomerang is one of the biggest nerfs that Link got, because in SSBM it was extremely useful and potent, setting up positioning for Link and keeping opponents at a distance.

His smashes aren't something to wow about either, since in SSBM...he had difficulty killing opponents...yet in here, it feels about the samething but more neutered. Given everyone it's harder to kill now, however I would of at least believed Link given better strength for how slow his mobility is.

Link's hookshot is definitely one of the biggest nerfs as well...this was a life saver at the ledge, especially with the air dodge into hookshot to set yourself up for a perfect hook. However, it's range is dropped by nearly 30 or 40% severely limiting it's uses.

The only thing for SSBB Link that I like so far is the fact that his tilts are more closer in resemblance to SSB Link's which where excellent, and his aerial Up+B connects 50x better.

However, outside of that, SSBM Link is a vastly superior Link to this version of Link.

Yeah, I guess this is vented frustration, simply because Link was never powerful in SSBM to begin with. It makes no sense...Marth gets a slight tone down, and is still extremely effective, not just overpowered, while Link was average in SSBM, but gets shafted in SSBB.

Sometimes the people who fix these things completely leave me scratching my head.

MK is nothing to me.
Just a easy target to knock out.
I do agree he's good, but as I said, he's nothing to me when I fight him.

I second this...for I as someone who has played against some of my buddies solid MK's...I also ask, what great secret you are hiding Genome that the rest of us have not found out to truly counter MK yet.

I don't have to see you fight. Your posts on this board point out that you lack the attention span and overall intelligence to be a true brawl monster. I'm sorry, man.

Prove at a tournament with good competition then.

Because if you can't go into detail about how to beat someone...like for example in SSBM, if I'm Link and I'm playing against Roy, and if someone says "how does Link have the advantage in this matchup, can you prove/show me?"

I list the details...

Link has boomerang, bombs, that forces Roy to having to come in, and not only that, but it either punishes Roy, sets Roy up for Smash options, or else, forces him to make a mistake. Roy does not have the advantage reach nor power strike of Marth, therefore, Roy has to get in, CC, grab, or SD Link. A good Link plays a more defensive game while forcing Roy to having to rushdown like he usually does.

At 45%-130% Roy cannot get out of Link's Down Throw into Up+B, in fact at higher percentages you can change the Up+B to a Swordplant...this is one of the most potent and powerful and most dangerous setups that Link can do against Roy. If it doesn't K.O. them, Roy will be blown out far away, to either setup Bomb/Boomerang tactics, or else he's off the edge, which gives Link another opportunity again.

Link>>>>Roy when Link is edge guarding Roy, throwing of bombs, arrows, boomerang, jump of neutral kick and Up+B back on the ledge. Even if Roy latches onto the ledge, if you stay at a certain point, and utilize Up+B almost nothing Roy can do will be able to stop it.

Given this is a small example, however with what I stated above, people can get a visualization of what your saying strategically, and they may try it for themselves to either disprove or say "Wow, it really does work, Link>Roy!"

However by simply saying..."Me training to predict MK's sudden moves". absolutely and I mean this, absolutely proves nothing and holds no water.

Either you really do "know" something and don't want to tell us, or else you are a prodigy within the game of SSBB (could "be" but highly doubtful), your lying to us, or else your playing against MK players who don't really know what they are doing and thus you state that you know how to beat MK because you are beating them (this might be the most likely case).

Seriously...what are doing that's "countering" MK's attacks...which might I add seem to have more pirority then almost the majority of other characters attacks at this point.

Like I said, 3 short sentences that you posted doesn't do anything to help you on your side. So really, what are you doing from a strategical standpoint that is stopping MK in his tracks? Tell us, Elaborate for us, and I hope that it's more then 3 sentences next time.
