I have an idea that might appease people. Let's declare any constructs as being exempt from any protection under the rules, but still restricted by them. This way, you can have your flying earth golems and cloud dragons and GL constructs and whatever else, but people are allowed to teleport them away/use matter manip to turn them to water/etc.
His spell list isn't impressive. The only problem I could possibly see is if he can combine things to make some uber all-encompassing. As it stands now he's not even close to being the strongest character selected but I can certainly understand the "anxiety" over facing spellcasters.
How is that a double standard? They aren't team memebers, they are an attack. Thus, they shouldn't be allowed to have power above the limits but they also shouldn't be protected like they were part of a team.
I'm saying it's kind of stupid to be able to use powers that are above the power cap on those rock giants, but can't be used against the other opponents. That's why I think it should be one or the other. Like Val said, those rock giants should be the least of our concerns.

Not above the power caps, outside the power caps. Silver Surfer can still transmute, he just can't transmute the opposing team. If you give constructs the same protection as team memebers, they basically BECOME members of the team and thus break one of the very first and fundamental rules of the tourney, IE "three fighters to a team".
However, they wouldn't be as much of "members" as they would be powers. That would be like if somebody were to attack somebody else, they could use powers outside the caps in order to negate the effects. It's more powers imo, than members. However, you ARE arguing to make it easier for everybody else, so I'll shut up now. Sorry Blair, you're on your own.

Exactly, they are powers/attacks. Thus they shouldn't receive the special treatment that team memebers do. If Juggernaut throws a rock at Silver Surfer, are you saying he shouldn't be allowed to transmute it to something harmless?
You CAN NOT grant rocks and wood the same protection as legitimate team memebers or they BECOME team emembers and break one of the rules this entire thing is based on.
