you must have a pretty low attention span not to notice all the hints..in the mise en scene and in the dialoge hinting towards an unhappy future with Will..tell you what..go back, watch the film..listen and look HARD and you will see what we are talking about.

I didn't study 3 years of film studies to be called an obssesive fan girl mate. laughing out loud If there were no hints in the movie then I wouldnt be making my point on this thread all the time...thats just sad..

And for two, we know these are theories. We dont know what will happen. It is entirely probable that Will and Liz will in fact end up together. We dotn know what will happen. But we are having fun discussing it, and you have to admit, there have been some very clever and brilliant discussions for why Jack and Liz should end up together.

BRAVO, couldn't have said it better myself. I am having so much fun discussing and reading these theories about jack and Liz - it's my stress relief and because I am such a huge Jack Sparrow/Depp fan. So this is great. Keep up the good work, ladies and gents.

She seems to be the one actively pursuing while he is always, always deferring or just hesitating a little bit. Examples from first movie: Elizabeth:"How many times must I ask you to call me Elizabeth?" and then Will: "At least once more, Miss Swann" and then later, when Will finds out that he's the blood that the pirates want, Keira takes HIS hand and puts it on HER cleavage.. and he doesn't do anything. They get close to kissing and he doesn't even go in for the kill(???) Imagine Jack passing that up. Not a chance. Then later, in the Isla de Muerta cave thingie, they have a "moment" but Will just says "Your fiance will be wanting to know youre safe" Ummm.. even Jack comments, "That was the moment, if you were waiting for one"

I just couldn't understand it. What does someone as spirited as Elizabeth see in someone so passive as Will Turner? I feel like their whole "relationship" came about because she pretty much coerced him. lol. On the other hand, you can see why she's attracted to Jack. You can't accuse HIM of being too hesitant towards the opposite sex. hah!

OMG, this is exactly what I think about Pirates 1 -I really enjoyed Pirates 1, because of Jack Sparrow and the great plot - but was disappointed that they put Elizabeth with sapp boy, Will Turner. Sorry, Turner fans - but he is kind of whimpy and shy -unlike Jack who is a real ladies man - and isn't that what makes romance stories so intriguing, good girl getting tough guy to fall in love with her......

the non-fangirl would like to agree that while Will is hott, he plays by the rules too much. it makes for a lot of stress for everyone else. its like, Will keeps forgetting he is in a PIRATE film and should act accordingly, hehehehe....

I know there's been a lot of discussion about the SW parallels in terms of the Han/Leia dynamic to the Jack/Elizabeth-- really interesting. In a lot of ways, that "Curiousity" Conversation can be seen as kind of a parallel to the "My hands are dirty" scene from ESB. Hmm come to think of it, they both deal with very similar subject matter-- being a scoundrel/pirate, the discussion of the woman's possible attraction towards it. And then the carbonation scene when Leia says "I love you", Han's unnerving "I know" is relatable to Jack's "Pirate" line-- they are both revealing to the woman they love something they have known about her that she herself has been unaware of. HMMMMMM. I don't know who came up with this SW/Pirates idea but it is really working for me! I just hope that the Pirates writers will not make the same mistake of Jedi -- the romance is resolved much too quickly and easily... in Jedi, they both know they love each other and Luke's totally out of the picture, it's sweet but a little boring... Leia and Han do not have that chemistry and tension that made ESB so enjoyable.

Hopefully, there will continue to be good writing for the Jack/ Liz relationship on the POTC 3-AWE. My enjoyment factor of their romance was hugely upped by the surpassingly good writing.. thanks to Ted and Terry, no doubt...really put a nice, classier gloss to their attraction. All that verbal and emotional circling, tossing their "curiousity" about each other back and forth. There's really something to be said for the tantalizing, drawn out seduction; it is a lost art form in the films these days.

I agree with you^^

Also back to the hat theory (hat/Liz)... I think the finding of the hat to jack was like his confirmation that he realised it was Liz he was after he said "oh" in such a way as if he was pleasently surprised that he had it finally. He also picks it up with such a confidence. And he dives into the Kraken. Its like Liz gave him that extra bit of strength. smile

Also that thing kinda resembled giant Vagina to me..the fact it spat out the hat (resembles liz) kinda hints Orgasm..I'm not even kidding. It was like an echo of the satisfaction Liz just got from him. He enters it as if to satisfy it and himself....Its all pretty symbolic to what just happend between the two..

i mean COME ON

JAck and Liz just totally satisfied eachother in that last moment.

Then giant squid/vagina comes along..spews out a load of white crap on to jack and out pops Miss Hat resembling Liz. That basically resembled the massive satisfaction liz just got from him

He then says "not so bad" laughing out loud which was basically saying yeh i got chained up..it wasnt so bad..because I just gave lis one MOTHER of a thrill.

he puts it on (Liz the missing part) and he's finally ready to accept what he wants..then he says "hello beastie" in such a confidence..then jumps in it as if to satisfy it/Liz and satisfy himself too...it all echos what just happened between the two for sure..exept it resembles sex between the two. its like disney saying

"if all the hints/moments wernt enough then HERE YOU GO!"

yeah ewe gross sorry but when it spits out the eggy yokey stuff, gross.

they could have made the kiss 30 seconds longer instead.. LOL....

jack looks like a good kisser. gosh. kiera too. good chemistry. i wonder how many days they spent kissing to get all the shots... and how many ways they got to try it, like the directors saying, okay now make it a little more passionate, okay now make it a little less obvious you are in love, now make it a little more brutal, etc.... hahahahaha no i swear i am not a fangirl.... wink

They might be a wedding..but there was also a wedding in the davy jones story..which symbloizes whats happening with Will/Liz..and that sure didn't turn out happy, she ran away from davy at the alter..

Also if the marriage was important to the overall ending of the movie and who Liz ends up with..i doubt Disney would have mentioned it at all. I dont think its going to be the ending of the movie...

I also asked fot it in writing..she never gave it to me..I have looked over the net and never found any confirmation that they are going to be married.
