I suck at this trade offering shit. Someone make me an offer for Eli or Ben? A RB would be nice. Or a WR. Shit. I suck at trading.

When offering a trade you need to look at the other persons trade and try to find where they might be weak and offer something to help that. If someone has Tom Brady and Matt Schuab and you offer them Eli Manning for someone they will laugh at you because they don't need a QB.
I got a question. I have another draft coming up shortly and I'm trying to understand why RB's are taking in the first round. Looking at the stats, elite QB's like Brady or Brees are getting much more points than an RB over the course of the season.
I'll just let trades come my way, if someone needs a QB, Eli and Ben are available.

An elite QB can easily score more than an elite RB no doubt. The reason people wait on QB's is because you can get a solid starting QB late in the draft. You can not get a #1 RB late in the draft. It is a depth thing. You only start 1 QB so all you need is one solid guy to score you points and there are likely more of them in the NFL that qualify for this than there are teams in your league. Now RB most leagues start 2 with an option for 3 so you need a lot more depth here so people prefer to get a top line guy right at the start.
Taking a QB high is not always a terrible move but it depends on the league setup.
Take a look at our league for example. I have LT (round 1) and Carson Palmer (Round 13)
They are projected to score 246 and 244 points. Solid production from both.
Or you could have taken someone like Brees in round 1 and gotten his projected 335. And then taken a RB in Round 13 (like leon washington) and get his 100 points.
Combined that team scores 435 and Leons 100 will be very sporadic. While my 2 guys are scoring 490 between them.
Hope that helps show you why thats generally how it works. Its just a depth thing. If I was in a league where you only need to start 1 RB and 1 WR to go with your 1 QB I would be much much more willing to grab an elite QB at the top because depth would not be important. Also if the league happens to score passing TD's as 6 instead of 4 I would maybe bump up the elite guys slightly.

That's why most of the elite RB's are taken in the first round but you would be stupid to not take Brees or Brady in the late 1st when the elite QB's are all gone.
Had my last draft tonight. Unfortunately, only 6 of us showed up (one of those were late)
This is my team.
QB Brady
RB Forte
RB Johnson
RB/WR TJ Housh
WR Jennings
WR Roy Williams
WR/TE Desean Jackson
TE Zach Miller
D Chargers
K Bironas
BE R.Bush
BE F.Jones
BE Beanie Wells
BE D.Avery
BE Harvin
BE Crayton
BE Flacco.
I think that's pretty good.
What's crazy is a guys autodraft league.
QB Schaub
RB A Peterson
RB Slaton
RB/WR Colston
WR Steve Smith (the good one)
WR Bowe
WR/TE Holmes
TE Dallas Clark
D Dolphins
K Crosby
BE J. Lewis
BE Terry Holt
BE L. Coles
BE Ted Ginn
BE Chester Taylor
BE K.Curtis
BE J Campbell.

Forum covered it. But in a nutshell, there's a bigger gap between the number 1 and 20 RB's than there is between 1 and 20 QBs. Or 1-10. So top tier RB's are more coveted, because you can get similar QB value to a #1 QB many rounds later. The difference between Peyton and maybe the 15th QB this year will likely only be a few points a week in standard scoring (and maybe less). The gap between Matt Forte (assuming he lives up to his ADP) and a #15 will be far more. So Forte > Manning in terms of early worth.
Also, the big flaw in most auto-drafts is that it fills in each starter before choosing backups. Yahoo is like this, and I think ESPN too. So they seem fine in the first 4-5 rounds, but they might wait until round 12 to pick their first backup RB. I've been able to exploit this in a couple leagues with a lot of auto-drafters, waiting until maybe round 9-10 to pick backup RBs, knowing that they'd drop well past where they should have.

Yeah, I need over 10 points and it's basically Vincent Jackson and McFadden vs Brady and Welker.
Not going to happen.
It's funny though.
This fantasy team I had Rodgers, Olsen and Crosby vs Brady and Welker.
My other team I have Brady, Forte and Jennings vs Rodgers, Moss and Bears Defense.
So in the end, I either win one or the other because if Brady does well, I definitly lose against Bot and win against the other guy. If Rodgers does well, I could potentially win against Bot and lose to the other guy.
I needed Forte, Jennings and Olsen to do really well to have a chance to win both times.
Oh well, it's looking like a loss to Bot and win against the other guy.
