yeah exactly! smile give the main character what he wants. gosh disney. seriously. Jack is the only reason this film ever made it so if you are smart at all, dont ruin it for your supposed "happily ever after" (which we all know would actually end with Liz a raging alcoholic and Will a very distant workaholic)

you bet it is... smile

my list of suggestions:

-put jack and liz together, in a cabin with no dress.

-give scarlet to Gibbs.

-Whip Will again... just cause its hott.

-give the poor pirate a glass eye!!!!

-Give us one good shot of Jones smiling and being happy

-Get Barbossa a different ship

-Give all the pirates toothbrushes.

LOL - I love this post....that's my ending line to POTC 3 when Jack boards the ship bound for England and kidnaps Liz and she says "Do you still happen to have no dress in your cabin?"
Scarlett and Gibbs - now that's a couple.
Who's going to get Gizelle? Perhaps the Midgett? Pintelli? Ragetti? LOL
What about Tia - does she and Davy sail off in the sunset?
Whip Will again? Yikes - that I don't want to see again - Poor Will - what will become of Poor Will?
Yes, Barbossa definiteley needs a ship, cuz he can't have the Black Pearl - that's Jack and Lizzie's ship.

More and more I am thinking Jack has really, actually always had a thing for Lizzie, and he just handles it differently than other people. I mean, he has actually really liked her since the beginning of 1... and known it, too. You get the idea Jack doesnt associate with smart women very often- his girls are all in tortuga and arent up to his level, if you know what i mean. and he probably likes it that way, because it means he can always be dominant, he is never tied down, he just gets what he wants and leaves, and its okay, because his heart isnt involved. but of course, as we've been over a thousand times, Elizabeth is way different. I think the deleted scene "peas in a pod" is really telling in the 1st one. Even if Jack doesnt get Liz in the end, I think He realizes he has "met his match" so to speak--- he's met someone who is very much like him, and i think that shocks, frightens, and intrigues him a lot. Because he is so used to being one-of-a-kind, no one really gets him, living in his own reality... you know what i mean?

Going along with all that, I dont think Jack is a hopeless romantic and I dont think he will be much affected if he doesnt get Lizzie in the end. I think he will maintain a great flirtatious friendship with her. (For the record, i still hope they DO end up together, and think it is the best choice. wink). But Jack isnt going to mope around if he doesnt get her, ya know? He's Jack. He's done a lot for her, she's done a lot for him, there is a beautiful bond, they have awesome chemistry... and yet, its Jack Sparrow. He's the hero of his own story, the legend of the ocean, the hottest guy this side of Han Solo.

On Lizzie's side: I think by the end of 2, she is actually very dissillusioned with the whole pirate idea. Deep down, its what she has always wanted, and probably what she will always want, but there are parts of her that get very tired of it sometimes. Like when she flips out at the guys for swordfighting. She's more sneaky, more diplomatic, more manipulative. She doesnt always have to fight, ya know? (Which is more how Jack is, by the way)... So i think there is going to have to be something that happens in 3 that really pushes her over the edge to love piracy and not want ANYTHING to do with her old life anymore, ya know?

Sometimes i wonder if Jack and Tia could end up together, just cause they have similar hair. LOL. im so wierd.

LOLLOL LOL YOu are funny. Yes it is so hard to know what will happen with our Pirate characters....I too would love to see Jack and LIzzie - I do agree with you though...that's what makes Jack so appealing. He knows he has a connection with Liz, but he doesn't mope about it...he knows in his heart of hearts it could never work out, just as he says at the end of POTC 1 "Elizabeth, darling. It would never have worked between us, Darling...." That was such a great scene that was deleted "the peas in a pod" - if you've never seen that deleted scene - then people are probably really confused with the relationship that develops in The Movie (POTC 2).

And you are right, no matter what happens..HE IS CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW.....Johnny Depp - gosh, don't you just want to eat him up....watch that interview with Letterman, OMG he is so awesome, so humble, so male, so gorgeous, so JOHNNY DEPP. The one and only Johnny Depp. LOVE HIM>>>>>>

I agree with both of you.. I feel that if Jack did get Liz in the end it will be a satisfying moment for the Audience..it means that Jacks character has developed in a positive way instead of a negative way.

Liz loves the pirate life but because she is female she handles it differently, Females tend to use their wits instead of strength because they lack it in a fight and I think thats all she was doing there when trying to break them up.....she's still very much a pirate at heart in movie 2... cool

Maybe Jack was saying things like "it would have never worked between us" So that everyone can hear... he probably really wants her but doesnt want to show people that he, Jack Sparrow master of pirates cant get her..so he pretends there is no way between them but secretly he really wishes there was...that would explain his satisfaction at the end of Movie 2.

thats a really good point, i didnt think about that. smile

i think it would be far more satisfying. even those people who NEVER imagined Liz and Jack together--- i think they would go, oh, right, that IS how it is supposed to be! smile

Its really hard to know for sure on anything, because we dont know Disney's stand point on the whole love triangle, ya know? I mean, we all know what we think, we know what Wikipedia thinks (which was honestly written by fans, lol.) but we dont know what Disney thinks. Perhaps they didnt mean it to be a love triangle at all, just a passing flirtation--- perhaps they meant the kiss to look like an obvious tactic to chain him up (BS)... ya know? We dont know. Perhaps they intended to favor Jack with the compass thing--- to make us all KNOW Jack and Liz will get together or something... Gosh Disney, please release a press statement. Otherwise we will just have to wait for the trailer, the commentary, etc...

here;s a question. in the scene where they are on the island and then Will shows up sad hehehe... Liz actually seems really excited to see him. I dont know. this scene seems rather out of place or something. they kiss, they have a moment, they seem very couply and that sort of thing, the way Will holds her and the way she seems to like it.

Of course, all this vanishes a moment later when Will suggests she guard the chest, and she gets all angry again...

But then, back on the boat, she is leaning over him all concerned... but all he cares about is the chest.
I think some of Lizzie's decisions may have been made capriciously (as all women's are) based solely on what she is feeling then, which is probably a hint of rejection from Will. She came all across the ocean to find him (though some ulterior motives came out) and he shows up and only cares about the bloody chest. Heck, at that point i'd kiss anyone else to make him mad.Not that i think she kissed Jack to make Will mad, but i think that may have been some of it.

Jack and Liz just have this level of understanding that Will seems to be completely out of the loop of... if you know what i mean... when they are deciding to head for land, Jack and Liz share this look... i dont know.

So basically, whats up with those moments where Liz and Will are acting like they still like each other????

I think we do have an insight into what Disney are doing..it cant just be a meaningless kiss because of the Will/Davy thing the director says is going to be in movie 3..so that means the Jack/Liz thing is probably going to continue in movie 3...It couldn't have just been a meaningless kiss in order to betray him because of the Will/Davy thing.

I honestly believe that whole movie was about a realisation of feelings she had for Jack but she wasn't ready to accept them..she didn't embrace them in this movie because it has to continue into movie 3 in order for the story to continue. smile

what moments? You mean like on the beach?
laughing out loud
To me that scene looked like an awkward moment between them...they didn't know what to do with each other they looked as if they had completely forgotten about each other and were both like "what the hell??....OH YEAH my fiance!!...well HI!...oh yes a kiss of course..", Liz didn't exactly jump in to kiss him and he didn't either..then Will finally kisses her as if to end the awkwardness of the situation.

It looked as if it was on display..as if it had a sense of falseness about it..

of course it IS actually on display in that scene. They do it infront of 2 people watching them..It wasn't really a personal or private enough moment for it to REALLY mean anything when they kissed eachother there..it lacked any sense of.......emotion IMO.

yeah i guess i have to see that scene to decide, LOL... oh gee....

I LOVE the moment right before Will shows up, and the compass is pointing to Jack as usual, and Liz does her "it certainly doesn't point to what you want most" line, and Norrington gives this AMAZING look like, shut up, you know you want him, go snog him and be done with it ms. swann...

LOL I agree I love that part..Norington's infamous eye rolling when it comes to Liz/Jack..teee heee

That kiss between Will/Liz was meant to come across as "so, so..meh boring!" because its not the REAL kiss of the movie laughing out loud we all know what kiss was the REAL one laughing out loud

YEAH now I'm going to label it The Kiss and all the other ones are just plain old "kisses" lol...
That Kiss blows every other movie kiss out of the water too, to be honest. My other favorite movie kisses are:
-When Westley and Buttercup land on the ravine floor and kiss
- When Mr. Knightly proposes to Emma
-When Darcy and Elizabeth almost kiss but dont quite during the sunrise scene in Pride and Prejudice
-Leiah and Han Solo
-The kiss is Spiderman 1
-Aladdin and Jasmine's first kiss (smokin, lol)
-Jack and Rose. its a classic.

Hmmm but yeah, Liz and Jack definately top them all off with hotness factor, passion, intensity, situation and conversation exchanged while in kiss mode... wink

Where is the hat theory? I've looked for it but can't find it.
Am I the only one who doesn't like Liz clinging to him like that? That was the only thing I absolutely hated. This was Liz, the girl that stabbed Barbosa, went back for Will all by herself, tricked the greatest pirate of all time and burned his rum! She convinced an entire ship she was a ghost and can swordfight with the best of them. I just don't think it fit her at all to do that. I understand all the other changes she went through, but I just don't think it was something she'd do. As much as her life's been in danger, it's the Kracken that makes her lose it and cling to the first guy she sees with a gun?
