I know....Johnny is so much fun to watch...especially as Jack Sparrow...wow, he is so hot and gorgeous...Poor Will...he really doesn't stand a chance...except with young teenage girls, but Now Johnny/Jack gosh, he's all man....even though Johnny tries to give him some feminism with those hand movements and graceful walk...but it ain't working Johnny - it's more of a turn-on than anything else....
Maybe the bittersweet ending is meant for Orli/Will fans....
Oh, Katelovespirates....I would love the last scene to be the cabin scene...When Jack and Liz sail off on the Pearl...they share a hot Kiss and she whispers, "Oh Jack, do you still happen to have NO dress in your cabin." And he gets that sexy, devilish smile and says, "Yes, as a matter of fact, I do." And Liz responds, very sexy voice.."Then why don't you show me"....and Jack hollars to Gibbs, "Mr. Gibbs, man the ship...I'll be in my cabin for a spell." He winks at Gibbs and he and Liz are off to the cabin...then of course...we will see a hot kiss ...but it is Disney so the rest will be left to the Adult Audience's imagination.....

So the scene in movie 1 where Jack and Will have just set out on the interceptor:
Will: You didn't beat me. you ignored the rules of engagement, in a fair fight I'd kill you.
Jack: Thats not much incentive for me to fight fair, then.
The only rules that hatter are these: what a man can do, and what a man can't do.
I think this scene is very telling about Jack and Will. Jack considers a woman fair game so long as she isn't married, so he is telling Will he doesnt fight fair- and he wont fight fair with Lizzie either. LOL.
so if this were a perfect world, will would get the girl... but its a pirate movie, and the rules dont matter! So jack gets her.

where are the disney people getting the vibe that every one wants Will+Liz? that really puzzles me sometimes. maybe the crazy critics were like you can't have the "good guy" (Will) end up all alone. weird!

Is it really the same kind of fight, though, fighting for a woman? Liz really throws a wrench into things because if she didn't like Jack at all, I don't think he would fight too much for her. So in that scenario I do think he would "fight fair."

hmmm... i dont think so. i mean, he didnt in 2. he trades will to jones, lies to lizzie, flirts his mind off with her, etc.
but then, in my book, all's fair in love and war.

it is. people break rules for love. thats the way it should be, IMO... lol.
anything Jack would do for Liz, or Liz would do for Jack, would be fair cause it would be for love.

Need to ask a question..what way does Jack put his tricone(triangle) hat on when he gets it back?..you know is the point facing backwards or forwards?
I think there is a very large symbolizm here..and I hope the answer is FACING BACKWARDS

LOL cuz Liz was wearing it forward..meaning she is learning to embrace her masculine side..and When Jack gets it back its faced backwards...meaning he is embracing his feminine side...and it makes BOTH characters much stronger at the end..Its like a ying and Yang..perfect balance
The upward moving triangle is sometimes called the blade (the chalice and blade figure ceremonially in many ritual magic operations). It is a symbol of aspiration or rising up, male force, and fire. It is purely phallic in origin. The triangle represents aspiration, rising forcem and the male principal.
The downward pointing triangle is sometimes referred to as the chalice. It is the symbol of water (as it flows downward), the grace of heaven, and the womb. it is one of the most ancient symbols of female divinity, as a representation of the genitalia of the goddess.
AND WHEN YOU PUT THEM TOGETHER (Liz facing forward, Jack's facing backwards)
When combined, the triangles of fire and water form a potent symbol of balance and divine union. In western tradition, it is called the Seal of Solomon, and the symbols for air and earth are derived from the reconciliation of water and fire in this symbol. The hexagram has an identical meaning in Hinduism and Buddhism as well, where it also represents the divine union, or perfect balance of male and female energies. Kabbalistically, it is the sign of resurrection and completeness- in Hebrew tradition, it is called perfect. Occasionally, this conjunction forms a diamond or lozenge shape.

omgsh its been a while since i delved into all that mythology and symbolism.
they bring some very paganistic themes to 2... and strangely balance it out with some Biblical referrences. anyways, i could see them doing something super-symbolic like that.

Yes because throughout the movie Liz was the driving force she did everyting to Jack and Jack was the more feminin one..and once they both reach a climax.they fit together perfectly...divine union.. and once both characters have done what the other wanted ..they are the perfect balance when put together for a relationship.
Im certain his hat faced backwards at the end!

aww crap he put it on forwards lol..but that would explain the fact that he is brave enough to jump into the kraken because of what Liz just did..he embraced the feminine and in turn found his brave masculine self..

LOL i agree with you..AWW i'm a bit out of it too..I had an operation earier..
he lost his masculinity and only by embracing the feminine did he truly become strong...Hat faces forward..the upwards triangle is an ancient symbol for masculinity. He's found his strength again.
And With Liz..she was embracing her masculine side and by taking the hat off meaning she's gone back to the" feminine" but she has truly discovered herself as a person
they both embraced both sides of life..feminine and masculine..and by doing this they become perfect for one another.
If Jack had put his on facing backward would have sealed the deal..but I suppose not having it on and then having it on could mean he has embraced both sides of life..and only then can he reach his perfect balance. Same With Elizabeth. Its kinda obvious in the film how they were both embracing both sides of life and the hat ws either present or absent once they had discovered how to become a perfect balance.

Wow, The DaVinci Code. That's a whole other can of worms.
I think, keeping in line with the symbolism, his point on the hat should be facing in the direction of the Kracken's mouth. I know LovelyOne has addressed what this symbolizes before, but everyone just close your eyes and think about it.
Grandmother Willow from Pocahontas also looks like a vagina. I've never typed that word before! You guys have corrupted me.
