ok well you can go by anyones big board. Calvin is the #1 WR and a top 5 overall. Until the combine I guess i shouldnt be definitive, but if the draft was tomorrow titans would have no shot at calvin.
I dont think Vince Young is anywhere near ready to win in the playoffs.
And you gotta remember just having FA money doesnt mean anything. There have to be FA out there who want to play for you. Plus you have teams like the redskins who never have FA money and still land tons of FA's. Who is gonna start at RB for the titans next year?
I dont know if Calvin is top 5. Probably in talent, but the only team that might pick him up is Tampa Bay. Other than that, I cant see Calvin going to the Raiders, Lions, Cardinals, or Browns.
My thought would that he would go to the Vikings, or Tampa Bay...but Im thinking TB will go for an OL.
After that, Jerret and Ginn could still be avaible for the Titans.
Some boards have Landry going to the Cowboys. If that happens, I wouldnt mind.
Man, does anybody think Quinn will slide to the top 20?
I was speaking talent wise about Calvins position. And who knows Detroit LOVES drafting WR's.
Oak, Cleveland, Baltimore, Miami, Buffalo, TB, Det, Minnesota all have need for a QB. So if Quinn starts falling one of these teams that wasnt planning on a QB may switch their strategy, or move up in the draft.
I think Ginn could be there for the titans with Calvin and Dwayne going above him. But Ginn's special teams could move him up.
It all depends on how Ginn does during Combine and try-outs, or how his ankle turns out.
The thing about him is always about his explosive speed and moves, but he is raw. If he runs an damn good 40, like around 4.3, then he definitly will be the top 2 WR pick.
Maybe, Quinn will go earlier, but I dont think he is going in the top 3. I think it will be Brohm, or Russel. What about Troy Smith, second rounder?
secound rounder maybe I think more like round 3. If he gets to round 3 I think the Browns need to take a chance on him and not make the mistake houston might have made by not taking the home town kid.
Oh, yeah, the National Championship, the same championship game that Smith was pretty much crap in, and not just like, " on the o-line played like crap", but more like, " look at me, I dont know how to throw the ball away, and lets try to run away from people, and lose the football.". The dude didnt even have 100 yards.
Hiesmen Trophy rarely means he will get drated high, or even be good in the NFL. Granted, they're a few winners who are drarfted high like Palmer, Bush, Ricky Williams, but they're is also Eric Crouch, Jason White, Chris Wienke, and Danny Wuerffel.
Most boards dont even have him in the first round.
He flopped in one game, a big one yes, but still one game, and I know all season long I have been the biggest Troy Smith hater, but the man has talent.
And flopping in one game should not constitute going from a lottery pick to second round, and any team in need of a QB that passes on him is the new Houston Texans.
Just like one amazing game while having a horrible season should not constitute a player going from second rounder to lottery.
And with all that being said, there is only one QB that should go ahead of him and that is JaMarcus Russell, who himself has not been to the national championship or won the Heisman trophy.
