that was the past before he became a pirate however..as of late he's turned pretty.....piratelike..the man we meet isnt the man he used to be..only at the end of DMC do we truly start to see him. Its cuz of Elizabeth too..also his time with Calypso in the past me thinks..
but he's still quite unpredictable..he is Odysseus basically..even after returning to the kind of man he was..with more respect towards women etc he is still really unpredictable and can burst out in violence, be dishonest etc..he still tricks and steals and lies to people..even the ones he loves

Lizzie wont be..but I really can imagine her drowning herself and rejecting Jack to be with Will..and THEN deciding to go back to Jack lol..that would be the 4th possibly 5th time in movie 2/3 she does that kind of thing.
widowed before marriage remember..you cant be a widow unless you have married and lost someone before marriage...
The only person it appears to be is Jack who is her true husband.
"lost at sea" (eaten by the kraken) she goes in search of him etc etc
even the start she's feeling the loss of Jack from her life IMO..looks like she's at a grave and then we meet Jack in a floating coffin lol

maybe..
I have a feeling this may happen in movie 4 if she's involved in it.
--------------------
I'm gonna say this.
Jack wont change at all in characteristics when it comes to being with Elizabeth.
He will probably be different with her but she will ultimatley have to fit in with his way of thinking.
Odysseus dd change because of his feminine side being embraced..but even when he comes back he is still very much as unpredictable, theiving, "triksterish", contradicting as he always was...But Penelope is now a driving force..his life has purpose again...after 7 years of wandering on Calypso's isle he had no purpose in life but to exist with denial of adventure (feminine.coward etc)
and when pirates die out..he's going to need some sort of purpose or we will have to watch Jack die on screen and never return...who wants to see that?
Who wants to see Jack have his whole way of life taken away from him and actually have nothing and no one to fall back on?
I dont
Pirates are going to die out..

so liz wont actually be in jacks way, bc anyways piracy itself is coming at its end. And he could at least settle with liz...its history disney style lol

Ok so he's going to die for sure then..pirates didnt live forever..they died out around the time AWE is set
At Worlds End aka the end of the age of pirates..a new world is coming along..."Jack must find his place in the new world or perish"..Beckett may be evil but its usually the villains who have the most knowledge in movies. What they say often rings true in the end.

Jack has broken the rules many times. But I believe he had strong reasons for doing what he does. Like Mina said, Jack broke the rules but it was to free the slaves. Obviously he had a really good reason for dong it. I believed that was when Jack got his mentality of freedom. IMO he believed that all man were born to be free without any restraints in life. That was when he decided to become the way he is. Obviously he is a good hearth ed man, in his own ways. And I don't think Jack goes around steeling from people, where is the indication on that? did I miss something?. In fact there is a scene form POTC 1 where Jack and Will are in the rowboat, on their way to save Liz. Wll looks at the bottom of the water, and Jack says to him "Not all treasure is silver and gold". I believe that he was referring to freedom, to be free to have, love, do, say whatever you want without any restraints. So all the people that has come in here to talk BS about the character can choke on it.Jack is indeed a good, may not always be honest, but he does things in order to survive and have his freedom. That was what, 17th 18 th century. People in that era did things in order to survive. Not to cause harm, pain and suffering to others. Jack is definitely not that way. So take all your BS and again choke on it. This is the 21st century, people's mentality has change, society is way to different, and criminality has gone up immensely. Therefore if I see a stranger sitting in my living-room I'm definitely calling the cops.

I'm sure if movie 4 isnt a prequal..its going to be the "death of Jack sparrow" apparently they say they are going to kill his character off with that movie..do you really think they mean an onscreen death as in Jack dies and never comes back?..or do they mean th end of his onscreen piracy? settle down and actually be happy?..or death? which ending is gonna sell more?

dude guys they arent going to make a 4th potc movie in order to kill jack. seriously.
he doesnt have to live FOREVER in order to live a LONG TIME and make successful adventure films. haha.
piracy still hasnt been completely stamped out.
piracy's golden age didn't die out until the end of the 1700s. that gives Jack plenty of time for plenty more adventures, IMO.

Isnt it nearing the end of the 1700's though in the story?
Its becoming more and more dangerous for jack i'll tell you that..and a person who has nobody to protect in life will perish very quickly
think about why men are brave in war? Because they protect those they love..
People who have no one? are usually the first to die in battle...or are the first to flee..to protect ones self becomes the most imporatnt thing and its usually the "flight" aspect when faced with danger
fight or flight situation
I admit..if a bunch of people came running at me to beat me up i would flee..or I wouldnt be as strong as I could be when trying to fight back because I would just be trying to escape
If a bunch of people started to attack me and someone I loved..I would kick the crap out of them and I would not stop kicking the crap out of them despite how much they could kill the crap out of me..I would not stop fighting until I just cant fight anymore.
fighting is easier when you are doing it for someone you love.
