Yes! Henry Cavill. One of the few persons i wanted for the role. He's a great and experienced actor, as well. He was great in "The Tudors".
Josh Hartnett was my other choice.
Routh was ok but he acted to much like clark kent while he was superman. They're supose to be two different attitudes. (confident/non-confident) He was more of a geeky superman with a geeky voice. He didn't seem very...manly or masculine, for some reason..

???? Really??? She has a great set of knockers but that is about it.
I think acting wise it would be a huge mistake like putting Kirsten bloody dunst in the spiderman films.
SFX magazine talked more to Zack Snyder about directing the new Superman movie that will star Henry Cavill.
He said: "My feeling about Superman is that I've been a fan of the character for a long time. But the question for me was always, 'What can you do with Superman in a modern world?' And I think the amazing thing that Chris [Nolan] and David [Goyer] have created, that I'm working on now, and the reason why I was like, 'Yeah, I'll do that,' was that they found that in him. They found the why in him. That's the exciting part for me."
He wasn't able to say much more, but did add the following:
"I can't really talk about that without being kind of specific... But I can say I think Superman needs to be physical."
Lex Luthor has been in all of the Chris Reeve/Brandon Routh Superman films - apart from 3. I know it's because Lex is one of the most definitive nemesis of Superman, but he's also not one of the original nemesis. Why not bring in Metallo...
No. What Lex Luthor & Metallo have in common is that they are only a threat to Superman because they have kryptonite. It's become too much a of a plot crutch. Re-introduce Zod, or do Brainiac, Doomsday or Darkseid for a change; time for some real battle.
If they want to do something different with Lex, consider what usually happens when a major crisis threatens the DC Universe - they end up working together to stop it. Having Lex as a guy who envies Sueprman and wants him gone, but works with him when he has to, would add lots of nuance to his movie persona for a change.

If Snyder is smart he'll keep Metallo and all things related to krrryptonite, out of his film. It's become one of the most unnecessary plot devices around, just look at how poorly its handled in the movies and Smallville.
Instead of simply weakening and poisoning Superman it seems to make him paralyzed too in these live actions shows. A fight between a weakened poisoned Supes and Lex's goons would have been more interesting than beating down a paralyzed Supes. They don't know how to use it to escalate the drama, even when they use it.
Superman has more than enough bad guys who can challenge him both physically and mentally without needing the green rock, which is supposed to be far more rare than these shows imply.
