I don't know how fast he was going. But that doesn't mean he was going light speed or above.
If I lift a book, then you know it was under a ton although you may not know exactly how much the book weighs.
Lastly, you are making the claim that Fallen One achieved light speed or above within that small space he was shown to attack Thanos, when in fact Surfer himself was never shown to achieve light speed within 3 meters of travel. The onus is on you to prove that he got to light speed within that small distance of travel. Otherwise you must concede with that claim.
That has nothing to do with my point. A straight line is the closest distance to any object so Fallen One went as fast as he could in the shortest possible path to Thanos.
No he didn't go as fast as he can. He accelerated as fast as he can. This is a big difference.
For example, the first inch he was moving at X speed, the 10th inch he was moving at X+Y speed and by the time Thanos stopped him he only managed to reach X+Y+Z speed which is less than light speed.

Thanos TK is powerful enough too stop Thor hammer in mid flight, Thor hammer travels at light speed when thrown. If Thanos can tag Silver Surfer who is 100 xfaster than Superman, he can easily handle superman, Thanos is tough enough too take a punch from Blood and Thunder Thor w/power Gem he can easily tank Superman punches, Thanos can steal Superman life force, or just systematically take Superman apart.
He was going superhumanly fast. You need to show Superman doing so and if you can ( we both know you can't) then you have to prove he can best someone of Thanos' magnitude before he can react.
Of course he was going faster than a human. How is that relevant? A bullet can go faster than a human but bullets are still life to Superman. Superman has plenty of feats showing how fast he can move AND OPERATE WITH COMPLEXITY within a short amount of space. Just go to his respect thread. He's one of the most featish characters.
IMO, Superman is greater than Thanos magnitude. At best I would put Thanos around Darkseid's magnitude. ABC logic doesn't work though. Thanos can beat Surfer but Surfer can beat Superman but Superman can beat Thanos. So the talk of magnitude is irrelevant since it implies faulty ABC logic.
Superman is stronger, faster, and as durable as Thanos.
Fallen One also can move pretty quickly as well. I didn't ask for you to skirt the issue which is show me a feat or so that proves your assertion. You don't ever back anything up you just spout about vague answers and numbers which make no sense.
Surfer's powers is in the same peer as Superman's and his power cannot even phase Thanos. Thanos stomps. Smarter, more powerful, more durable, and meaner.
Superman has reacted miles away to a gun shot, traveled to the scene with the bullet still in the air and easily stopped it. Superman has traveled around the world and did many different operations before Lois can finish a word. Superman has exceeded the speed of his HV when he was shown to blitz someone capable of yawning while blocking his HV. Superman can move so fast than he can become invisible to everyone while he is performing complex operations such as changing other peoples clothes. Superman can move so fast that he can instant vibrate through light speed attacks launched at him from several meters away. Superman is so fast that him and flash can chat in a coffee shop for hours while everyone is frozen solid. Superman is so fast that he can move around and talk to others within the time span of a nanosecond.
The last feat most definitely proves that he can achieve light speed within the first 3 meters of travel.
Superman has also failed to stop multiple gunfire and failed to react to simple punches by slower foes yet you want to play up a few feats while ignoring how he fights in character. You stated Fallen One needs time to hit his speeds so prove it. He's also struggled to keep up at light speed. In closing you don't know enough about how these characters are and are a respect thread arguer with very little understanding.
Prove this bullsh** statement, Thanos handle beings that travel at light speed Adam Warlock, Fallen One, Silver Surfer, Thor hammer, classic Drax, Captain MAr-vell the sh** come out of your mouth is f**king absurd. Thanos strength level is mid trans and can amp at will through his Eternal heritage, Thanos has handle planetary explosion on more than one occasion, being cursed by death made him even tuffer, Thanos can manipulate all forms of energy, Thanos is a manipulator and schemer and 100x smarter than Superman, Thanos will play Superman like a fool.
