Ok, Jack isn't a bump in the road...he's a bend in the road, and after that the road will straighten back out of Will and Elizabeth.
There is no love triangle, remember?
As for any of them being losers, I don't think there will be one.
I can't imagine that Will would be left alone...one of the things that makes him so tragic is that he is well and truly alone in the world. Even if he becomes captain of the Dutchman, what kind of life will he have, even if his dad is with him?
A parent is not a substitution for a life partner...especially a father who loved you, but not enough to stay in your life for any long period of time.
As for Jack being left alone, I think he'd be upset momentarily about Will and Elizabeth ending up together, but he's Captain Jack Sparrow. The next adventure waits for him over that horizon, and I suspect that he could find some comfort with a woman elsewhere.
This is not to say that Jack is less of a character than the others; but he truly loves a free life. Because this is the 'final' movie in this particular series (yes, maybe there will be more), it will end with a marriage of some sort between characters.
In the end, no matter how fun and interesting and different the Pirates movies are, they are Disney, and they are still a fairy tale. There's going to be a happily ever after somewhere in that film.
Concerning James Norrington...I just have this dreadful feeling in my gut that he's going to die. I've been trying to figure out how he could survive from that one leaked script, but I am going to guess that he is going to one of those characters that will have to die. But maybe TnT will bring him back. I'm hoping!
Oh, God give me strength...Amen papa Dios. Ok..here we go *cracks knuckles*
Jack is not a bump in the road all life has a meaning and a purpose. This is Pirates of the Caribbean and this is not a love story disney about Will and Liz. Not even exactly a Jack and Liz story. It's about fate intervened.
Jack has a purpose. He is not a bend in the road, he is fate intervened
Who said about a ove triangle? There is no love triangle and there never was
I vot for Beckette by thinking he's going to get away by killing so many people and have the sea in the palm of his hands.
I can . No but seriously, Will doesn't have to be alone. His childhood dream was to find his father. He found his father, now he wants to spend time with him.
And you think leaving Jack alone wouldn't hurt the plot? What kind of life would be for Jack by getting infested with herpes by hookers. Jack is our main charactor weather you like it or not. Everyone choose their favorite but Jack Sparrow is the light of this movie weather you like it or not. Jack, like any other character, has depth.
Will has got Tia lol Im not saying Im a Tilliam shipper--noope. But makes you think...She will be immortal so will Will...hmm...She helped him find his father....hmmm.....she said :"you want to know me?"...hmmm
Jack would've done that a loooooong time ago. He wouldn't been so preocupied thinking about Lizzy. If I guy is just horny, he will just go to any other woman and beds her. Not think about that particular woman for him to have sex with....
Lust isn't about thinking about someone constantly...If Jack just wanted Liz for sex, he could've gone over it and slept with whatever wench in wherever.
Ok...by the end of AWE Jack will be the same as the first? So it's like eating your own vomit. You barf than eat it...again? Jack knows his time is up and knows that there really is no "freedom" unless if you don't share it with someone who truly understands the meaning of freedom. "peas in a pod"
I think they brooke the rules of Disney by making PG-13 rating lol. It's not a fairyl tale, Surreal, its a PIRATES MOVIE. Disney may want their fairy tale ending, but they are not stupid to know on what hit the audience...
*shrugs* Why not. I wouldn't mind seeing more ice cream...

I miss LovelyOne and all the faith she used to give us =\
Yeah so sadly, I'm almost sure that it'll be a W/E ending for AWE.
But the romance part isn't all the movie, right? I'm sure there will be amazing special effects, a cool plot, and some awesome fight scenes, just like DMC.

This is a thread where you post your favorite things of POTC. I won't let it get ruined by stupid slash fantasies *cough*surreal*cough* and silly debates.
My Favorite Things:
1) Barbossa's voice
2) I love the way Jack yells when he was falling off the cliff.
3) Jack wet
4) The way Liz defends herself
5) When Jack caresses Liz's face in the curiosity scene.

It's amazing how opinions differ...because other than you...everyone who is posting on here thinks the kiss is
It's hot because it's out of desperation...it's life or death....it's I want you but I don't want to want you....you're a temptation...I actually thought it was so hot how jack allowed her to push him backwards and made no effort to touch her..but he was definetly kissing her back....and it was a kiss of forbidden love...it was a kiss for the ages, a kiss that had been building since the day Jack and Elizabeth met...it was kiss that screamed of i want you, but I can't have you..this is all we can ever have....a tearjerker...a OMG...I can't even express it in plain english..just look at it....

Very good, chiki, back on topic. I have to say, I love Davy Jones' voice. Bill Nighy has such a distinctive voice and dare I say it, I think he has more of the badass/rock star quality than even Jack. Jack is too much his own to be compared to a rock star even though that helped him develop the character. Davy is just so neat, though not as neat as Barbossa.
I don't think anyone's said this yet, but I really like the Black Pearl. I think it has the best name ever, and it's really a beautiful ship. You see more of the interior in COTBP, but the staircases, the woodwork, it's gorgeous. It holds as much affection for me as even the Millenium Falcon.

Actually, it's what happens after the kiss that is the hottest..instead of just turning away after she chains him...she stays up in his face and almost takes another taste...that's what is so hot and when you see their eyes closed and how he was going to kiss her back...if you understand what they are feeling its hot, sexy and utterly heartbreaking...I want you, but I don't want to want you...I want you, but I can't have you...I want you, love you, but we can never be....forbidden love..

Well said, lovethemtigers. That's part of the reason why I find the curiosity scene much more satisfying than the actual kiss. It's the build-up to the moment, the stuff that leaves you wanting more. That's why I doubt we'll get a sex scene, or even a mention of sex. It would just ruin it. Curiosity leaves you aching, really disappointed you didn't see them kiss (unless you're Surreal! Jk, darlin,' you know I love you) so when they do later, everyone just orgasms from it.
Whats so great about the curiosity scene is the sexual tension. the teasing from both of them. each trying to figure out what they want and what they taste like.

I love the Curiosity scene...and the persuade me scene...and the hide the rum/you smell funny....I surrender...I love every scene that takes place between Jack and Liz....or any scene with Jack, period.
"as I said, persuade me".....that line just gives me chills....and the little grunt he gives after she walks away....

Jack must've been staring at Liz for a while for him to notice that she was having a "problem" from the curiosity scene. He was the only one who sensed it too.
Gender: Female Location: Drinking rum with Jack in a dingy
yes...I think Jack was somewhere staring at her and then decides to approach her ...he can't help himself...he doesn't want to want her, but he does....."my intuitive sense of the female creature informs me that you are troubled"...I love the way he walks up to her and sits down and his facial expressions are priceless and then he offers her that bottle of rum and to his surprise she actually takes a swig.."you know(jack clears his throat) Lizzie, I am captain of a ship and being captain of a ship I could in fact perform a marri-age, right here, right on this deck, right now."...I love it....and I love when he says "why not, we are very much alike you and I , I - you, us".....

its weird...besides the 'lizzie' comment that jack makes at the curiosity scene...she pretty much doesn't mind him having a pet name for her...
'Love' ...does anyone sense the coincidence here? hehe
ALSO i noticed something; (i dont know if this has been mentioned)
When will is telling jack on the pearl that he wants the compass because elizabeth is in trouble (and jack says the line "ill give you the compass if you help me find this"..the key)
When jack tells will that it will help to save elizabeth...
he says "It'll help you save your dolly-bell...ol' whats her face" (something like that, anyway lol)
And he smiles innocently at will....
do u notice how he wont say HER name???
And he doesn't mention HER name until he sees her for the first time.
He talks about the rum always being gone..no mention of her name
He tells will that the key will help save 'ol wahats her name'...no mention of her name...
its almost as if he cant say it, because as soon as he does he is reminded of her...
like that itch you cant scratch.
Gender: Female Location: Drinking rum with Jack in a dingy
well, he does say her name...in that very same conversation Jack says "how much do you know about Davy Jones" and will says "not much"..and Jack says "yep, it's going help Elizabeth."...so that's the first time he says her name.....
