I don't understand why he constantly goes into that if he's suppose to be using his own chakra and why Yamato only stopped him after he already transformed into tailed form when that form comes first.

Beacause he somehow skipped those and went straight to the tails but in nearly all his fights he goes kyuubi like he did against Kimimaro, and the first time he fought Orochimaru in the Forest of Death and everything.

anyhow, no, not always., i named sum there. and anyway, its not like he necessarily wants to, its just that his anger gets the better of him. and anyhow, nearly all his opponents in those states also have sum power beyond the normal{urochimaru's experimented body and manda, sasuke's cursed seal and shaaringan. neiji's byaakugen, kimimaru's bone pulse, haku's ice kekai genkai, gaara's shukaku, itachi's shaaringan etc etc etc}
Nah going Super Saiyan is reserved for Sasuke lol.
Did Narutp go Kyuubi form against Gaara? I think he may have used Kyuubi chakra but I thought he stayed normal looking. As for the other battles yea they all had their special traits but he's not fought them during Shippuden where he is suppose to be using his own chakra. Heck he wasn't even suppose to use Kyuubi going against Orochimaru on the bridge he just has no control over it but he tells Kyuubi he doesn't want to see his face anymore and he doesn't want to use it's power yet he always gets that wild look that usually means Kyuubi chakra is being used in nearly all his fights.

when he uses its chakra its not 'going' kyubbi its just using its chakra. when he faught sasuke ,when that aurora formed, that was him 'going' kyubbi bacause he is not using any of his chakra he is depending fully on the foxe's chakra, and plus he is barley in control.

Like someone said earlier, one is like a drill and one is like a blade for cutting.
For instance, if you were pooping but had to get up quick and go somewhere, you would use the lightening blade to cut off the dangling turd real quick...if you used rasengan, it would splatter the poop everywhere all over the bathroom. If you were constipated, you would use the rasengan right up your butt to loosen yourself up a bit.
It is real simple, people. Come on.
Really, though, it is made quite clear on more than one occasion in the manga the the rasengan is the more powerful attack. Anyone who says otherwise is just blinded by fanboyism.
Madara could, he is also the one who unlocked the final secret of the sharingan. So sure it means Sasuke could also control it like a pet if he unlocks it. Though whoever denied Madara could control it..though know we know why and any Uchiha could potentially.

because naruto can handle himself w/ up to 3 tails. once the 4th formed, yamato couldnt get close w/o getting killed, so he had to wait for the right opportunity. plus, he was probably curious and wanted to see what kinda power naruto had. and, also, he was scared, remember? because he didnt think he would be able to deal with both orochimaru and kabuto. so, he just let naruto take them out for him.
naruto's new windblade-rasengan would destroy chidori. doubt he'd be able to get a direct hit on sasuke or kakashi w/ it tho. he's not fast enough. sasuke has the teleporting thing he does. kakashi might be able to do it too. who knows. both are prolly faster than naruto tho.
rasengan would be better if naruto could just throw it and then guide it with wind element chakra. naruto's got enough chakra if he could get the control.

Sure he can handle himself up to 3 tails...but Naruto even tells Kyuubi he doesn't want to use his power any more right after he went 4 tails. Well not right after but once he gets to Sasuke after using the 4 tails to mess up Orochimaru before Sai left. Using the tails = using Kyuubi's power. Though yea..Naruto needs to learn how to throw it. It would probably be a lot easier to use if he did. But then it wouldn't really be the Rasengan I guess.

I say Rasengan is more for power while Chidori is meant more for speed. If you think about it. Kakashi is extremely fast while Jiraiya isn't quite as fast but packs a hard punch. Two different techniques, two different purposes... Overall if I had to choose one...Rasengan Takes it... With wind element, chidori really doesn't compare.

um..sasuke amped his chidori also and he can do a lot of crazy things with it now. for instance if he was facing kisame and he did his usual water release attack, sasuke could likely fry him.
the two moves are different but equal, kishimoto is making sasuke and naruto opposites but equal opposites in all ways.sasuke is going to be the main bad guy in the future and naruto the hokage to stop him.
Seems as if it's going that way. and being that konoha set up the destruction of the uchiha clan, he's probably going to seek revenge on all of konoha.I'm guessing...
