Nah, not really. It's already in contradiction with established EU canon (not that that is a very solid concept) and it's going to get pounded over by the tv series.
Trust me, it's really not canon.

The makers of the game did, but frankly I think they have confused themselves. All that is happening is that it is being subjected to rating in the standard EU canon process (as opposed to being torally discardable like, say, Rebel Assault). But that doesn't actually make it canon, and being so contradictory to so much stuff makes it mostly apocraphyl.

Well, I could be wrong, anf if subsequently the Holocron (the centrepiece for EU continuity) delcares it is right and everything else wrong, then fine- but I seriously wouldn't bet on it. It messes around with some formative aspects of the original Trilogy that are almost certain not to stand up to scrutiny, not to mention the simple overpowerment of the main character.
Already we have novelisations and comic book versions of the TFU storyline that do not agree.

They do not agree with each-other? Or with the rest of the EU?
As for his over-powered-ness, I'm willing to just look at that as a style of art, as some artist might draw Luke one waa and someone else another way.
But now that I think of it, I think I saw a spoiler somewhere, did the novel truly say that [SPOILER - highlight to read]: Palpatine was behind the formation of the Rebellion somehow?
To reply to your spoiler, Morridini, my "The Art and Making of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" seems to indicate that this is so.
It is, however, usual for comics, novels, movies, and games to differ on several points, as some things work better in one format than they do others. I would not be surprised if extra, minor information in a novelization disagreed with minor information in the game or comic adaptation.

I just finished reading “The Force Unleashed” graphic novel yesterday. (It finally arrived late yesterday from Amazon; read it in one sitting)
To me, it’s the best Star Wars Tale outside the movies ever, to my knowledge. I’ve read dozens upon dozens of pieces of SW lit and none compare. And I’ve never said this about a SW story.
It’s so perfectly and logically ties into the OT. More so that any other story tie in there is. I highly recommend it. After finishing the book my anticipation for the game has increased 10 fold. Now more than ever I just can’t wait for it to come out in a few weeks. To me, it’ll probably be the best SW video game ever.
I loved the way the book started: In typical SW fashion. Where the viewer already enters a dire situation already happening. Like a crisis you’d see in the middle/end of a movie only the film/story starts off that way.
And Starkiller always interested me for some reason. When playing Soul Calibur 4. (I thought it was absolutely genius of Lucas to throw the kid on there. It was perfect timing. His games' ending and how he insinuated upon the new upcoming game just made the game legendary already. Even when he wins it’s like he’s currently doing missions for Vader already and the fight was just a distraction when, after winning a fight, he says “Continuing Mission” and Force jumps out of sight. Wow. Just wow.) – And I think Vader’s coming to the 360 after the Force Unleashed is released.-
Maybe it’s the “why” of him. Like why was Vader taking on an apprentice when he isn’t suppose to. Or where he came from and how Vader found him which is illustrated magnificently and in proper detail in the book. He’s slowly starting to become one of my fav SW characters. My current and only favs are: Boba Fett, Darth Maul, and Vader.
I give this book a 9/10. I highly recommend it.
I just wish it was a bit longer cause it’s such a great story. I wanted more. It does take place 2 years before the Battle of Yavin or “A New Hope” so I could understand why it wasn’t that long.
