that new chinese outfit is ugly. i dont like it. what's wrong with color? are they trying to signify the darkness of her soul or something?
i havent read all those leaked script scenes. I have no clue what you guys are talking about. a kiss is supposed to last them for 10 years? come on, everyone, i know this is disney, but let's all be realistic. that's the crappiest way for a movie to end I've ever heard of in my life.

Thanks for this post! This has become my own personal view in recent weeks having rewatched DMC & CoTBP, read all the 'spoilers' (and 'foilers'), and analysed all the promo stuff &c.
Basically, J/E got out of hand!!
The writers, the producers, Verbinski, probably the actors too - I bet NO-ONE expected the phenomenal response excited by the 'kiss of death' and all the flirtatious lines and scenes they had generated for this duo in DMC. But I don't think they ever planned J/E as a truly viable alternative to the W/E romance.
And I do agree, most strongly, that Keira 'over-acted' in her scenes with Johnny - and not only at the end, but also during Curiosity and Persuade Me. It is my personal contention that the most subtly 'sexy' scenes (for want of a better word) between the two were actually in CoTBP, even though there was never any doubt how that movie would end.
I say this, even though I would have preferred a J/E romance myself, (indeed, since CoTBP) ... seeing it as just that bit more exciting and dynamic and different and enlivening than the more old-fashioned, traditionally romantic W/E pairing.
I also agree with your point, on a separate issue, that the filmmakers have moved from the light-hearted tone of CoTBP into a dramatic action epic genre with DMC, and it looks set to continue in this vein. Hence a darker 'bittersweet' ending is rendered more acceptable - although possibly a lot less fun than scores of fans would like. We shall see soon enough ...
I think this whole movie is about Jack and Liz. They didn't do this by accident. Reading from the CotBP script and the DMC, I don't think this whole J/E is an accident or a canon. No matter what Surreal says
Sorry for the double post but I want to add something.
If what Keira did was so "over-acting", then what was Gore doing? I think a director has a job to do. If it's not on how the writers were intended on doing, then Gore would've made a stop to it.
Again, J/E is not an accident. They didn't go way off hand. Nor is W/E an accident. All has a purpose.
If they didn't want to include J/E, they wouldn't have written it and waste all paper, ink, and money on that.
Gender: Female Location: at the second star to the right
Well said, Mina. Jeez, give Jack and Liz something to do other than "warm up" to each other if you don't intend on a romance between them. All they could have kept in was making sure Norrington found out about the letters of mark and they could have cut directly to digging up the chest, no flirtations, no almost kisses, no speculation about where the compass points.
Gender: Female Location: Drinking rum with Jack in a dingy
To be honest. I don't know what to think about this whole affair...I'm through anlayzing and theorizing..just waiting for the dang movie to come out.....
I agree with Kate....and perhaps Gore is at fault...and JOhnny too...because the chemistry between the two leads me to believe that their characters are falling in love with each other..up through DMC. Can't say about AWE cuz haven't seen it all put together.....
I think Johnny's expressions also led me to believe that Captain Jack was taken in by Elizabeth....and okay I said i was through analzying...
but there is no mistake about it....T and T, Gore, whoever.....wanted the audience to know that Jack Sparrow is vexed and perhaps falling for Elizabeth Swann.....and with that in mind.....they should have never made Jack be a victim of unrequited love..cuz that doens't work..it's just silly...so I have to beleive that that is not the case. T and T are genious and no way they would leave Jack a victim of unrequited love...
They've already established for us that Jack is vexed at the beginning of DMC and has been since he left Port Royal....Elizabeth is playing into his thoughts, so much so, that his compass cannot lead him to the chest, because that's not what he wants most in this world...he should, but his thoughts and wants for Elizabeth is interfereing...Thus Tia saying "Jack Sparrow dont' know what he want, or do know but is loathed to claim it as his own"....AND YES I'M YELLING...JACK SPARROW WANTS ELIZABETH SWANN BUT IS LOATHED TO CLAIM HER...that has been established......then every single scene between the two of them on the Pearl...from the moment we hear "Captain Sparrow".."Come to join me crew lad, Welcome Aboard"...to "This is the only way don't you see...I'm not sorry" "Pirate".....every blessed moment between these two is filled with flirting, sexual innuendos, looks, glances, etc......I just cannot fathom how they expect to just sweep all of this under the carpet...i just can't. The final 40 minutes is top secret...I just wonder what they have in store.

An Explanation of the Kiss and Flirtations of Jack and Elizabeth
Actually, the scenes were over acted by Kiera, and the compass was used incorrectly, but the intent of the writers is still clear, even in the script version where J/E is not so...in your face, as it were.
Basically, all the flirting, the teasing, led up to Elizabeth kissing Jack. The kiss is a necessary plot element in three main ways. First of all, it allows Elizabeth to use her knowledge of Jack's weakness and vulnerability about her against him. Second of all, it allows for Jack not really being able to make a choice about facing the Kraken so he can die, and third of all, it drives the plot in the third film by giving Will the incentive he needs to fully embrace his piratey side.
Without the flirting and teasing, there's no way that Jack would have allowed Elizabeth to kiss him without knowing that something was up. He was already suspicious enough while she was kissing him, even with all the flirting they'd done.
So why bother with all of this if J/E is not meant to happen? To make what happens with Will and Elizabeth all the more shocking -- not to YOU, since you like J/E and you're on a messageboard looking for spoilers, but for the general audience who doesn't go hunting down spoilers, and who doesn't pick apart scenes in a film, seeking clues.
What is going to happen for Will and Elizabeth really does surprise me, and I can only imagine the reaction of the audience who knows nothing about the plot. It's going to be good. I imagine there will be gasps, people really into it might say, "No!", there will be tears.
See, in Hollywood, the girl and the guy hook up after lots of Issues. After they get together, there is supposed to be a big kiss, and then a happily ever after.
You aren't supposed to have them get over their Issues, have their big kiss, and then have one of them fatally wounded and then become a captain who can only see his love once every ten years.
That's...not Hollywood. It's not Disney. There aren't supposed to be more Issues after the other ones have been wrapped up, unless you're in a horror film.
Good guys are supposed to win, bad guys are supposed to die, and everyone goes home happy. The whole reason they're trying to keep the ending from leaking out is so that the general public is SHOCKED, happy, crushed, and lastly, hopeful when they leave the theatre.

Oh, no you didn't. Do not blame Johnny Depp lool. No way sister. You're blaming him loool.
OK, so Gore was sitting in his chair drinking coffee while Keira did her 'over-acting' and Johnny--since Johnny has no education--oh no! He is a dumb **** who never had experience in movies. Oh, and NEVER read the script, so he decided to play the horny guy and make it a Sparrabeth.
Riiigght!! That all makes sense!! OMG!!!
So the writers just skipped along the rainbow and pink clouds!! Not caring on what they do in the movie!!! Keira was just having a hell of a time with Johnny because she was horny!
SO...! Gore didn't care!!! Oh, and never read the script either!
So right so the DMC script was NOTHING about Jack and Elizabeth interacting with eachother--right right.
We are just dumb ****ers who just want to make this movie as in over acting and doing it way out off hand! WOW it is all so clear now. We are such dumb asses!!!
OK! So we are all settled that what everyone did was make us look like dumb ****ers, so every one just over acted.
Johnny over acted
Keira
Orlando
Gore over-directed looool
The writers, actors and directors are just lying to you, to mess with your minds.
Or sure, maybe it will be a J/E ending, since it's so obvious to all of you that it's Meant to Be.
OR, maybe, just maybe, you read too much into the scenes, over-analized everything in a way that was not true to what the writers had intended. May 25th, right?
