he's using the ship's propulsion. But imo, propulsion has nothing to do with the fact that if he wasn't strong as shell, His arms would have been ripped from thier sockets or his spine would have snapped like a twig. People trying to use the propolsion argument have forgetten that if the muscles aren't strong enough to stand the strain, that the propulsion would destroy the person doing the pulling. If they dont believe, me, stand on a boat with your arms tied to the pier and see what happens. Also, the feat isn't in pulling the snake, which was big, but it's actually in pulling the snakes grip from the earth. I'm gonna do some math and see what I can come up with as a pounds per sq inch that he had to move in order to break the snake's grip.

Yeah, but the ship wasn't moving. Also, the snake was resisting his pull, the snake had to be pulled away.

I just said that. But the ship did move once he broke the snakes grip. I have to do some research on what the pounds per square inch of a boa is. Then multiply that size of the snake by the size of the snake in the pic. Looks to me to be wrapped around the earth 2.5 times. SHould be interesting to see what amount of resistance he actually broke.

When did Jormungandr become just a big snake. And what says he's a boa anyway?

Well I was thinking that a boa had the strongest grip of any snake. If there is another stronger, I will use that one. Just trying to put a number to the feat. RIght now it's too subjective.

The scan proves it. Even if the snake were as dense as the Earth, it's nowhere near as massive.

....Nor does it look like it's even a third as massive as the Earth.

Also, not to mention that Thor is pulling the snake from Earth's gravity, and not from the gravity of the sun.

In other words, durability feat instead of strength. The same applies to Superman and co. smile

Looks to me like he lifted the head and broke the grip. Then they just flew off with it in toe.

Proves what? the only reason I posted the scan is to show that Thor wasn't flying when he lifted the snake.

When their flying away, the snake actually looks much bigger than earth.

I'm not even taking the gravity into account, basically because I doubt the writers did.

Its looks bigger because the artist is shit, the logic dictates that the snake can't have weighed more than the Earths Crust. smile

Or it could be that the writer/artist intended for the midgard serpent to look that big. confused

The snake wasn't as massive as the earth. If it were, the planet would have sunk under it's weight. it would have crushed the earth to pieces or knocked the planet out of orbit. The snake was causing the same chaos that the moon would cause if it moved a lil closer. So its safe to assume that since the snake was right on top of the earth, causing the same kind of dmg, it's mass was less than that of the moon.

The bit about the boat being the size of a country the size of England, or large body mass as you put it. You do realise that you are also insinuating that Thor has grown to mountainous proportions as well.
