Gender: Female Location: Drinking rum with Jack in a dingy
gals, I enjoy drinking...but I just drink at home...no club hopping for me, husband, child and all that ....sometimes when I post my depressing stuff how jack and liz arent' going to work..that's when I've had too much too drink and I'm being negative...so sorry...
anyway..
I've been searching the archives..and I found this oh so funny post by our lovely Katelovespirates....I was reading alot of old threads and it's very interesting...back in mid, late July the only ones posting back then that are still here today was Kate, myself, willo, sailerleo....and then the rest of you started joining after that....Lovelyone was our biggest poster, our leader of the Sparrabethers, so to speak, but she abandoned ship...and we are still here....
anyway...here is Kates' post...I love it..
HERE IS MY SOAPBOX: WHY I DONT FEEL BAD FOR WILL.
Okay everyone dont eat me for dinner, hear me out. Lets look at this rationally.
Point #1: He leaves Liz without a kiss at the jail. He seems totally eager to be gone. He expects her to wait calmly while he goes adventuring.
Point #2: He gets on convaluted side-trips with Jack when he could just steal Jack's compass and run home. If he wanted to get home fast, he could have done that. Instead he organizes a rescue mission and then hangs out with his dad, shows up in the middle of a beautiful Liz/Jack moment, and barely says hello to her.
Point #3: Back to the barely says hello bit: He gives her a "what are you doing here" look and then jumps into a fight with anyone nearby.
Point #4: When they have outrun the Flying Dutchman, he makes a big stink about giving chase to rescue his dad, when anyone would know that would put Liz and everyone else in unnecessary danger.
THE POINT THAT MAKES ALL OTHER POINTS IRRELEVANT: When Liz makes out with Jack, she does it with the clear knowledge that Will is about ten feet away and will probably see everything. And of course, Will sees. But what does he do? Gets in the boat and pouts. If he were truly in love with Liz, he would either leap on board and instantly challenge Jack to a duel, or he would wait for her to get on the boat and then discuss it with her rationally, ask her what she wants, etc. The fact that he doesnt, makes it seem that he doesnt actually want Liz as much as he thinks he does.
CONCLUSION: Will is a big lad. He can take care of himself. I dont think Jack is a cheat for kissing Liz when he knows she is involved with will, because, like any person knows, if you cant keep your own woman, its no one else's fault.
So, to sum up, Jack is hott. Liz is confused and growing up. Will is a good guy but I dont feel the least bit sorry for him that he is losing his girl.
Oh, POINT I FORGOT: pretty much everyone was chewing their hands off waiting for the Jack/Liz sexual tension to lead to something, so gosh, we dont have time to feel bad for will. We are too busy planning more hott jack/liz moments...

hey,...and here is a copy of my very first post on the forum..on July 23rd, 2006....after lurking for a couple of weeks, I finally got brave enough to join and start posting...this was on the thread titled "jack and Lizzie"
here is what I wrote back on 7/23/06:
Dear Lovely One - you seem to have the same outlook on Liz and Jack as I do. I really enjoy reading your blogs - it gives me new insight to some thoughts.
I am so glad to have someone else mention the scene involving Norrington and Lizzie - after the persuade me scene. That's another clue to the pairing of Liz and Jack. Why wound Disney bother to have Norrington notice the attraction - and he also rolls his eyes at her when she gets mad on the beach because the compass has once again pointed to Jack and Norrington, I believe, knows this - he knows that she has a thing for Jack.
As for Jack betraying Will - hey when there is sexual tension, lust, ect. between him and Liz as strong as it is - it just over takes him - he can't help but kiss her back. She has admired Jack and been wanting him since he rescued her from the botton of the ocean in Pirates 1 -she just hasn't realized it till now. She's been in denial cuz she's suppose to love Will. She's loved Will all her life- so these feelings she has for Jack are unexpected - and she's a little angry with herself for it.
I do agree - he is smiling when she chains him up - because he realizes she has "come over to his side" like he tells her during the curiosity conversation. He calls her Pirate. I don't know about anyone else, but for me, Captain Jack never looked sexier and more manly than he does in these last scenes - when he shoots the gun, when his back is too her and he is surveying the ship just before the kiss and of course when she kisses him and when he smiles at her and whipers "Pirate." And of course when he faces the Krakin! What a man. I love Jack Sparrow. I agree, how could Lizzie ever go back to boring old Will after having taste Jack Sparrow. No way.

Well put! Will is part of the trio....love him! if you don't, learn to! ....I have even gotten myself to like Elizabeth (although, I do like Keira Knightly quite a bit)

I'm pretty sure Will knows who Lizzie wants. He's been having that feeling since the end of DMC . I know if Will loves Elizabeth, he would want her to be happy at whatever decision she makes.
