Some people are just pi$$ed off that Lucas didn't make EP 1 2 3 exact duplicates of EP 4 5 6. Move on to new things and keep an open mind. I very much enjoyed the PT

Who said anything about duplicates? I had expected better movies since he didn't have any limitations this time.

Yeah, we all enjoyed them, but that doesn't stop the movies from being disappointments. Lucas had a HELLUVA lot more time and money for the PT and he gave us kiddie-geared crap for TPM, a crappy love story for AOTC, and general let-downs in the fields of the War and Anakin's relationship. As good and fun to watch as they are, the PT is the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the films.

The man directed ANH while under stress for time and money, and he made a damn fine film. Too bad he didn't go broke in-between all the PT movies.

It was kind of obvious that there would be a love story in the prequels. I mean if no one expected a love story to be a primary storyline what did you expect? That Anakin made out with some hooker before his lava bath.

I think so many people loved the original trilogy and had their own unique expectations for the prequels is why so many had an idea of what they wanted.

They are Lucas' movies, he can do what he wants, whatever happens in his movies is what happened in Star Wars...until he changes it in some special edition or something, he can do what he wants because it is his property.

If you break them down they are all great movies, all nine, er I mean six.

I personally enjoyed all 6 movies, I think we all do, because then we wouldn't own them on all in three versions on DVD and VHS, and don't even get me started on how many times we all went to see each film on the silver screen...

Noone's arguing that they're not his to do with what he wants, nor are we disagreeing that they're good films, but that doesn't stop the PT from being inferior and not living up to expectations.

Thats exactly what I mean, thanks for being an example, you stated them as being inferior and that is based on your opinion and they didn't not meet YOUR expectations.

Plenty of people like Star Wars and don't compare the movies they love like so. IMO, each Trilogy has their ups and downs but I don't trash each trilogy for it, I like both about equally.

i agree the episode 1 and 2 were a let done but episode 3 is the best of the pt. the pt may not be the exact same as the ot. in rots theres a lot of rotj simularities so in a way the pt trilogy coulda just been one huge film

It did add a new chapter.

It could have done so in good though. Like...make Vader cool instead of a gay pussy. I'd have liked that.

There are actually quite good arguments to support that though... more than just a matter of taste.

Please elaborate. I personally wish Qui-Gon could have been in episode 2 and/or 3 like how Kenobi was a ghost in 5 and 6.

I also think Jar Jar should have been toned down, some of the dialog was out of place/odd, but I don't let these get to me much.

Cut Jar Jar's tounge out, shoot him, and then shoot his toungue! And then trim that scraggly beard.

There's quite a bit about about story and structure that doesn't work. Redundant storylines, storylines that lead nowhere. Major plotholes despite the fact that the PT had to fill up a few mysteries. Also the acting is debatable.

For instance, you can debate if you LIKE JarJar or not...'but that's a matter of taste. What his point isn in the story is quite questionable. He doesn't serve any real purpose after the Bongo ride.

You can either like or not like the Syfo Dyas plotline... the fact that a guy is introduced that initiates like the MAJOR development of the PT (i.e. making a clone army) and we never learn anything about him, is faulty.

You can like or dislike AOTC, you can argue however that the only plotlines that really drive the story forward are the love story between Anakin and Padme and the building of a clone army. One doesn't need 2,5 hours to tell that. Plus the love story between Anakin and Padme is highly unbelievable: a former queen falling in love with a sulky, whiny and somewhat obtrusive brat that slaughters Tuskens for fun? Come on...

That list goes on BTW.
