Wrestlers:
AJ Styles
Sasha Banks
Charlotte
Seth Rollins
Chris Jericho(This new catchphrases lol)
Matches:
Charlotte vs Sasha all of them
Reigns vs AJ Styles Extreme Rulez
Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens Battleground
Ziggler vs Miz No Mercy
Male competitors Raw vs Smackdown Survivor Series
Someone needed to make Lesnar look Human. I wouldn't have picked Goldberg, or to have him do it the way he did, but it was something new, and it had the same shock value as when Lesnar basically murdered Cena.
And god, Lesnar was getting stale with his suplex gimmick.
Male Wrestlers:
Styles (best in the company if not the world right now)
Jericho (he can get anything over)
The Miz (ever since Wrestlemania he's been on a roll, and has gone well beyond even my hopes)
The New Day (for a while they basically carried Raw)
Ambrose (finally reached the peak, and feuding with Styles did wonders for him)
I like Sasha and Charlotte, but they've been carrying this feud way too long, and it's hurt the likes of Bayley and Nia Jax, who are more than capable of playing major parts on Raw. On SD, Becky and Bliss have been excellent without completely overshadowing the likes of Nikki Bella and so on.
Matches wise... There's too many to pick from, but Styles V Cena when Styles went over after kicking out of the super AA was something special.
A really good match was this week on Smackdown too: The title match was excellent. Corbin looked really strong, and even though I fully expected Styles to win, Ziggler yet again has that strange ability to make you think, just for a second, that he might actually win. Edge of the seat stuff, and I really hope Ziggler gets a proper main event run in the next year or so, maybe even after Mania when Cena goes off to do something else.
Also i would like to make a note that 2016 had multiple 4.5-5 star matches. I think there were roughly around 7-12 according to a lot of wrestling newsletters and sites. Like Pr said....a lot of really good matches to pick this year
Yeah, i was reading wrestling observers newsletter and saw the amount of 4.5-5 star matches WWE had and a lot of them were starting to come from 2016 Damn you really can't say the company has not improved in the least.
Which leads to why that is. Is Smackdown creative just better? Are they doing this on purpose? Is the balance of talent not even? Is Raw too long? Hmmm
It's a meme, but I honestly think slot can be blamed on Steph. Shane is barely ever seen, and Bryan segments are always to the point. Also as a commissioner he's shown his ass more than she has in her entire career.
AFAIK it's a combination of having better writers (one that was brought up from NXT for example), and what I imagine is Vince caring less about Smackdown than he does RAW.
Remember the previous draft? Smackdown kicked the crap out of RAW in terms of quality back then too. Now we just have to wait and see who Vince brings to Raw and dumps on Smackdown in an attempt to make things better.
Honestly, I'd be a little dubious of Vince's involvement in crafting storylines. I'm sure he still has his veto power but I think this is probably him winding down and his writers aren't wrestling people. I hope that when Tri takes over he brings in more wrestling people who can help the writers.
Vince obviously does not even bother creating storylines for business any more, hell the best he probably does is come up with an idea of a storyline and just gives it to the writers to roll with it.
