It's still widely reported that Vince has the final say. He might not craft all of the storylines anymore, but he's still, at least from what I can tell, the one with the final decision on every storyline.
What do you guys think of the leaked plans for the rumble which has Cena & Reigns coming out the champs and Strowman winning the rumble? Supposedly Taker will face Cena at mania?
Strowman winning the rumble? No way. Cena matching Flair's record? Maybe not on AJ's expense. Reigns winning...oh f*ck me...Do they like Reigns that much? With Cena i get it but don't WWE hear those massive boos? Almost every arena hates him
Exactly. Vince is EXTREMLEY out of touch with what the fans want. I am expecting Reigns to beat Owens for the title making him a DOUBLE champion. I am expecting Cena to beat AJ to tied with Flairs record of championships. That match Reigns had with Jericho for the US title this past Monday, was utter Horsesh!t.
Honestly isn't this the third time Jericho faced Reigns for the title and also probably the fifth straight time these two fought? This booking sucks for both the wrestlers tbh.
I think they should pick either Cena v Taker, or Cena as champ. I'd be amazed if Taker actually got the belt off of Cena, and tbh as much as I can see them giving Cena the belt at the RR, I honestly don't think he should be the champ going in to Mania if he's gonna fight Taker.
I fully expect Reigns to win. They've been booking him like shit, trying to make him the new Cena, but somehow doing it worse AND doing it with a wrestler that doesn't even have the merch sales/fanbase Cena does.
I like how they've booked Strowman so far, but I don't want him to win the RR (my prediction is Balor or Rollins). I do feel like they're just building him up to feed him to Reigns though.

So, it got spoiled on me that Ambrose won the IC title on Smackdown. As much as I dislike that decision, I did try to see the silver lining. Maybe they're gonna push Miz as a main event heel now? His work this year has been excellent, and his wrestling ability is finally at the stage where he doesn't need to be carried through his matches and can put on really good performances.
Then I watched the match... It might as well have been Reigns, tbh. I like Ambrose, but holy shit. Miz gets in almost no offence at all, he somehow doesn't get disqualified after what Maryse did, and Ambrose kicks out of a SKF AND a belt shot. WTF. It made him look weak as shit, though I hope that was an aberration and his rant on Talking Smack is indicative of things to come.
Ziggler heel turn. Please, finally do it. He needs to be the show off again.
Hmmmmmmm, on one hand if it's Cena v Taker for the belt at WM, it might get a hell load of attention and the stakes of the match will be higher. On the other, maybe it being just Cena v Taker and being marketed as icon vs icon is nothing but the perfect build up.
Reing is not being booked as the new Cena...his being booked as the next big face of the company like Hogan, Austin, Rock and Cena. Truth be told....i don't think he will ever reach that status.
Maaan, Strowman really has that monster look, even with his limited ring ability and mic skills...people really believe that he will the next Show or Andre for this generation.
Lol Pr, Miz has always been booked as weak as shit who can't even score a win against top mid tier guys without help.
Disagree. Rock, Austin, Bret, Michaels, all paid their dues lower in the card before moving up to the top. Cena did too, but to a lesser extent.
Reigns had to violate the wellness policy and then he was STILL being given massive amounts of tv time.
Reigns's rise is more like Cena's than that of any other wrestler.
Disagree with that too. His feuds with Cesaro, matches with Sheamus, Ziggler etc, and a LOT of his IC stuff had him go back and forth a hell of a lot more than he did on Smackdown this last week. He does have matches where he gets in less offense than his opponent, sure, but not to this extent.
What you are saying and what i am saying are two slightly different things. I'm saying Reigns is being booked as the next face of the company like Hogan, Austin etc. What you are saying is Reigns is the next Cena, which no matter how you put it, further more enhance my point but it's still different from what i am trying to point out.
If you are just talking about how Reigns is being booked compared to previous top draws then i can agree with you..the closest is Cena yet they are very different, why? Because Cena actually had to fight for it and Reigns was clearly picked from the beginning or at least from the mid to late Shield days. To be fair, Reigns did his time in FCW and technically in his shield days too and so did Ambrose and Rollings, but lol the fans like them so they can get away with it right?
And how did they book him to win those matches? cheating like i said, which makes his character weak in a sense. But that does not make him any less than star lol
Omega vs Okada was the weakest match on the card. Who hits multiple tombstones as a a normal move and a short-arm lariat as a finish? Kenny was good, but Okada is like a five year old's CAC.
That's really not a fair comparison. Ambrose spent years on the road, as did Rollins. Rollins cut his teeth against the best in the world in ROH before he even showed up in WWE developmental. Reigns was a football player that decided that he wanted to be a wrestler later on. He doesn't have nearly the amount of experience the other two do.
Rollins has been top of the card since he left the Shield, that's true, but he's shown time and time again that he was ready for it. When Ambrose left the Shield he spent a fair bit of time outside of the main event, and when he got his main event push, he was constantly portrayed as the underdog.
People dislike Reigns because he gets treated the way Cena did. Kicking out of everything, being largely unbeatable, and putting everyone he fights down with one finisher, when he'd kicked out of multiple ones by his opponent. It's no coincidence that a lot of people that didn't like Reigns before, liked him when he fought Lesnar at WM. Because he was actually BOOKED as an underdog.
Acting like Reigns is as good as Ambrose or Rollins is REALLY disingenuous, tbh.

Miz can look strong AND cheat to win. Plenty of heels have done it in the past, including Miz himself.
Sorry, meant to add this: The difference between Reigns and someone like Austin, Hogan, Rock etc, is that when they were being booked as the top face, the fans were almost universally behind them.
Cena used to seem like it was 50/50, but Reigns doesn't even have that.
He could be so much more than he is, but they won't use him properly. It's sad.
