i can say that from HUMANITY's point of view, he was evil. i can also say that if he or others as individuals DENY this point of view, they are being hypocritical in the same sense that a person who claims that he is inherently superior to other humans beings based on birth or skin colour is beign hypocritical because he or she isnt basing that claim in any facts.
But you're not basing Hitler being evil on any facts. At least back up your argument.

^evil is a concept subjective to HUMANITY{not individual humans necessarily}. hitler's actions, if premeditated and unjustified by mental illness fit this concept of evil. i dont understand what types of facts you desire.

At a bare minimum a definition of evil would be nice.

hitler was probably evil if he wasnt mentally ill to the point that his actions were not his responsibility. he had no empathy for parts of the human race, he found PLEASURE in torturing and belittling others, actively going out of his way to inflict as much of it on the jews in as painful ways, as he cud fathom{sadism and narcissism on that level, unjustified by serious mental illness are a good marker for objective EVIL}, he did not feel guilty about sending his self proclaimed comrades to their deaths in the battlefield or outside it{hypocrisy/betrayel, also a good indicater of evil}. he did to other what he would never have allowed, done unto him, and had no justified inherent superiority to base it on. he loved almost no1 and hated others liberally, and had horrendous effects on the world which were based on his premeditated intentions.
all of this combined makes him EVIL. but, that also makes pat robertson evil.
ive described multiple facets which combined, make evil, completely or incompletely.

So evil is: lacking empathy, being sadistic, lack of guilt, hatred and hypocrisy all without mental illness?
Sounds like most playground bullies.

i think hitler was just eccentric, he didnt do anything that any other warlord or megolomaniac hasnt done in the past. he did nothing i wouldnt have done as a military person to gain support of his ppl. hell his strategy was the only thing i dont agree with.
soo...no he isnt evil.

yes, children can have evil TENDENCIES, but their actions do not usually show them in such an all consuming way that hitler's did.

Hitler's evil. Pure, unbelievable evil. You could use the argument of "what is evil?", but racial cleansing in any way shape or form is evil. It just is.

I'm pretty sure my childhood bully didn't slaughter thousands to millions without a second thought.

but if he'd been in Hitler's level of power, wouldn't he. Nazis begging him, demons advising him, scientists supporting him, he could have said "employ the final solution" and "use them for the dirty work that we must do" and with a little ignorance, patriotism and ambition, he wouldn't have to feel more malice than a child pushing another off his swing.

^however, hitler didnt do it because of peer pressure. infact, if anything, he was the one from which that pressure ORIGINATED.

Touche. I should have illustrated my point differently. While everything proves that Hitler felt nothing along the lines of altruism, there is little about him that I would put past a typical hardheaded neighborhood bully in similar circumstances.

Okay, now objectively prove your definition of evil.

collective human subjectivity will come into any value judgment, based on the self evident constants of those values in our inherent humanity, with a little bit of variance here and there. it isnt however, INDIVIDUALLY subjective

Having no second thought on the death of millions, hungering for nothing but power, believing all to be disposable, and so on.

That's just plain incorrect. Especially when the man set it all up himself.

I said prove . You can list your qualifications for "evil" but the word itself is meaningless since no one's going to agree on the tipping point or even the extremes, Hitler certainly didn't think of himself as evil.

^however that is due to hypocrisy and arrogance since hitler cud never prove to any1 his inherent superiority over those who he dominated based on that claim. thus contradicting his stance and making his domination and ill treatement of his opposition, completely unjustified. the fact that he did it willingly makes it evil on a human level, sumthing, even hitler himself wud have to agree with in the face of the evidence against his rationalisations.
