Talking about preventing things like this happening is not intelligent discussion, intelligent discussion is accepting things like this will happen and not being foolish enough as to think we can stop it.
None of us can prevent it except by not doing it, that's why threads like this are dumb.
Someone posts a "bad" story, everyone goes "Yeah it's bad.", then what? What more could be possibly developed?
Anyone tries to do anything besides say "OOOH! TERRIBLE!" and you're throwing a fit.
So the rationale is; "I find this to be a bad occurance, as do you, but I also deem it inappropriate to be approached with humour, so therefore it is."?
Some religious nut (As you called him.) said that lesbians were bad, you made light of it, and he could come right back and say "It's no laughing matter, my children were scarred".

Hmmm... What do you think would be the proper punishment? Also, remember to be intellectually honest and only go off of what the story told us, don't add your only conclusion of "trauma", "be in therapy", "grow up to be monsters" etc. etc. etc.
Not under the law it is. Under the law a parent has the right to pass down whatever mixed up beliefs they want as long as it doesn't lead the child to commit crimes.
Oh really... Answer me this, if the law stipulated that making your toddlers smack each other is acceptable, you wouldn't have problem with it and be preaching?
Also, teaching hatred has the direct ability to make someone commit a hate crime. Do you think "gay bashers" were taught to respect homosexuals as people?
No I would still have a problem with it. And teaching hate may lead a child to commit a crime but that outcome is not guaranteed. Allot of children who are taught hate eventually grow out of it as they are exposed to the world and yes I agree that it should be outlawed, but then we are infringing on the freedom to pass on values to our kids and the flagwavers would get upset.
You fail [again] by your own hypocrisy then... You should feel the same towards both cases of child abuse then regardless of the law. Be it mental abuse, physical abuse or a combination of both.
You through insults out without any validation behind them which makes them invalid.
One is child abuse, the other is not. And yes there is something funny about a hypocrite homophobic father having a morality fit when there was already porn in the house.
The idea of parents using their babies for cock fighting is not in anyway funny.
