Gender: Female Location: Drinking rum with Jack in a dingy
all the filming had ended in November and then all of a sudden news leaked in January that Keira and Orlando and the DJ kid was in Hawaii to do some re-shoots for AWE>......so....all a bit strange......

hmmm! i never thought about htem actually changing the ending that late!! they could probably put an alternate ending on the dvd then. which would be irritating. extremely irritating.
I smell a conspiracy...who decided to change the ending? Disney? Ted and Terry? Gore? Jerry B? Orlando? Keira? Johnny? Huh? And why oh why?
I wish there really was an alternate ending in the DVD and deleted Sparrabeth moments as well. If not, then maybe we are as deluded as the alien conspiracists. He he..

i agree......i feel as deluded as an alien conspriacist....LOL.....
everything over the past year was one big joke at the expense of Sparrabether's.....who could have guessed that when Beckett said "ah, a marriage interrupted or fate intervenes, you make great efforts to ensure the freedom of Jack Sparrow"...that instead of that throwing up a red flag that something was going to develop between liz and jack...it really meant "oops, audience..take heed Jack's going to be a bump in the road to liz and will's boring and blissful happiness"...how ironic...a woman who longs for freedom, who longs to act on selfish impulse and longs to be a Pirate.....Her destiny ends up being that she stands and waits on an island for 10 years for the whelp to return for his one day......see, I knew her life with the Whelp would be boring......LOL....instead she could be an a grand adventure with good old captain jack...trying to get back the Pearl and track down the Fountain of Youth and live forever in Freedom....

I wouldn't go quite so far as to say it was rubbish. Not even bad. But...IMO, it was just alright. Okay. Not the greatest. Least favorite of the trilogy. Not bad, not not good. Here are my reasons:
1. I'm a huge Sparrabether, so you can probably guess my first reason. They made it like the second movie meant nothing. "A marriage interrupted, or fate intervenes. You make great efforts to ensure Jack Sparrow's freedom." What about that? What about all the hope they gave us? It's like it never existed. And OF COURSE he had to refuse the kiss in the end. They could've had 1 nice, sweet, goodbye kiss, but NO, he had to refuse. He'd forgiven her, right? He trusted her again, right? So why not? And RIGHT AFTER that, we had to watch Will and Elizabeth make out on a beach.
2. The ending was another major point. IMO, one of the worst movie endings ever. This woman here wants freedom, and to be a pirate. But she has to wait on this little island, only to see her boring husband ONCE every TEN YEARS. And Jack- couldn't they give him the Pearl? He loves it, it's one of his favorite things in the world, but he doesn't get it in the end. And his character development totally disappeared. We actually thought he would go somewhere with this whole development of being a 'good man.' He went from square one to square two by the end of the second movie. But by the end of the third, where was he? Back to square one. I know the audience usually doesn't like it when characters like him change, but come on. It would've been nice to be able to see another side of him for good.
3. The confusing plot. The first time I saw it, I went with just my dad. During the middle of the movie, I was constantly asking things like, "So what's going on?" or "Why are they doing that?" or "What's happening now?" I was so confused. My dad said "I don't know" almost every time. He was just as confused as I was. Then I saw it a second time with one of my friends. I thought that if I saw it a second time, things would be more clear. Only a few were. She was confused during the movie, and would ask the same things I had asked my dad. I said "I don't know" for about half of them. Perhaps I would understand if I watched it about 3 more times, but I seriously don't have the time for that, and no movie should require multiple viewings in order for me to understand the plot.
Now don't get me wrong, there were some good parts of the movie. Amazing special effects and swordfights, it did show different different sides to the characters like Davy and Calypso, and there were a few funny parts.
But it still was, IMO, the worst of the three.
And another thing, I thought I liked it after the first time I saw it. I came home and my mom said, "How was it?" and I said, "It was pretty good." But after I thought about it, and saw it a second time, I lowered it to saying, "It was alright." or "It was okay." And this is because I realized I was going easy on it because I WANTED to like it so badly. I really liked COTBP, I loved DMC, so I expected AWE to be amazing. When it wasn't amazing, or even that good, I kept telling myself like "Well it's pirates, and there were good points, and I liked it I liked it I liked it a lot." But I realized how blind I was being. I didn't like it a lot. I wanted to like it a lot. I spent 11 months wanting to like it a lot. I wanted it so badly. So it was really a disappointment.

Surreal Writes: I definitely think you need to see it again, lovethemtigers. A lot of the stuff you didn't like will grow on you, and while I never expect you to love what happened in the movie, I think you'll eventaully accept it.
Will and Elizabeth will never grow on me.....but thanks for the advice.....
I will forever feel that this trilogy..in the end let me down.....not saying that it's not my favorite obsession...or else I wouldn't still be here.....one month and 2 weeks after it's release...i'm still here...there's no closure......like a lost soul searching for something..unfinished business.....

HAh...had a thought...."that's just good business, Jack"....then "It's Just Good Business"....this line repeated several times by Beckett.....it just hit me....was this a message to the audience.....in other words.....
It's just good business in the end for Disney to keep everything status quo.....same old story, same old story...SAME OLD STORY......
