I don't really think any mutant can beat Superman at this point. Your best bet would be Onslaught, who is really nothing more than energy from two mutants psyches. Vulcan...eh i don't really think he'd be able to even touch big blue. Iceman. Well, Superman could, in the simplicity of it all, throw him in space. So to summarize my points, I'd say No known mutant at this point can individually defeat Superman
No; he need a host so that he can contain the vast power that he has in his possession and superman would be a great body that he could use. Proteus has no weakness. It use to be metal but that weakness left a long time ago. You would need xavier brain to take him down.
was just going to point out the metal bit. ANd plus most bodies burn out save for Morph. I wasn't really thinking of Poteus considering he's rather obscure. But I'll concede that he'd lose to proteus
Proteus lost that weakness when and angry colossus threw that bus on him. He is no longer weak to metal. Like I said before proteus can take the entire jla, the only problem would be the martian, the rest of them he can do to them what he will. Like turn them into roaches and step on them.
You do know that thats not 616 proteus right. Two different people with almost exact powers, except 616 seemed more powerful. But you might be right, he might have regained that weakness but he did lose it for a time because the xmen tried to use it again on him ending with him laughing at their efforts.
But with the weakness or not he can still beat the jla if he is prepared to fight them, unless he gets ambushed. Anything that he wants to happen happens. If he wants he can remove all the metal from around him or just read the mind of the people that he is fighting and whatever there weakness is, bring it to reality.
Proteus was uber powerful and should have never been created because of that but the last time that he fought the xmen they had to rely on bringing him down with mind tricks.
There have been numerous of non omegas on this thread that was named that could take superman and like i said if this was in an arena and if the jla didnt have knowledge of proteus weakness, he could own the entire team.
Scarlett Witch, Jamie Braddock, Hyperstorm, Mad Jim Jaspers, all are far and far beyond Superman.
Not any of those mutants were conirmed being omega level mutants.
I don't know why is this thread saying only non-omega mutants, since there are omega mutants that wouldn't be able to take Superman down, at least not yet.
