Miz Swann, I believe so and that's the good joke of it. Your post works on three levels, 1. the substitution of the word pants in the spirit of this site 2. the drollness of the original statement, and 3. the very idea of getting into pirate pants , having that sort of "closeness"...naughty, but in the way of the world so sweetly and innocently indiscreet.
If we can't laugh about things, even as potenially private as pants then, we're taking ourselves too darn seriously. Life's good, and you added joy in sharing your discovery.

Oh, I introduced my nieces, 12 and 10 to the pants line--their mom let's em surf with me sometimes--and now if you call my cell phone, you hear the younger one saying "Jack Sparrow, do you fear PANTS?" in the finest Davy Jones knock off--she's really got the accent down, even the funny little nuff snort thing he does. And of course then we all roll around on the floor lOurBO.
We sat around and read the making of Pirates book the other day and just laughed about all the places you can put the word pants--good grief, I have a very young sense of humor sometimes.
