If DBZ and Naruto where both on TV at the same time i'd watch DBZ but if I had both comics sitting next to me I'd read Naruto. so i guess i'd say DBZ as i'd rather watch that :P
yep yep I agree look how hard and desperately vegeta trained to become as strong as Goku. without a doubt DBZ characters have all worked hard to be as powerful as they are.
I think that the two are so similar that I love them both equally for different reasons... though I prefer the original DragonBall even more, as back then, things were much similar; Even using Ki at all was special, and training actually made sense. Plus, if Hercule / Mr. Satan was around back then, he might actually have been able to stand a chance against Goku-tachi at the first Tournament of the series. But by DBZ, using Ki and flight was standard, and no normal martial artist could even hope to stand a chance against them.
Anyway, the two series have a lot in common, but I think that Naruto has the harder trainers, as like in DragonBall, their training isn't completely outside of human limitation, and they actually have to train just to learn new things, as supposed to just training to improve their current abilities, and practically being able to create new techniques on the spot.
Still, both series have their good points. To compare which one is better would require stating in what way are they better.
The naruto guys push beyond their limits and can really hurt the selves in their trainin.
But the DBZ guys nearly kill them selves ALL THE TIME, EVERY TIME they train.
Wit Nruto all you basically do, is practice and do it HARD. Wit the DBZ guys, they go away some where to an Xtremely dangerous enviroment and do serious trainin. Vegeta flew to a planet that was in a friggen meteor shower, to go SSJ. And lets not even get to the Hyperbolic time chamber, death was around er corner, and they were just trainin.

The Hyperbolic Time Chamber isn't dangerous at all... It's a bit empty dimestion aside from the one house where you live. The fact of the matter is that it's the safest place you could be, as you can spend months in there while in the real world, only hours pass, all the while isolated in another dimestion.
As for training near death, that's called "Training under Critical Condition" and lots of anime have their characters train that way, including Naruto. True, DBZ people do train really hard, but they have to to make any process, as they are so strong that normal situations just can't cut it... however, Naruto characters CHOOSE to train that hard, risking their lives in order to make become stronger more quickly, specially Naruto himself. I can think of a few instances where he nearly died from training: Training to learn to use Kyuubi Charka and Summoning Jutsu, Training to use the Rasengan, both 2nd and 3rd step, and I'm sure he trained that hard during the 2 and a half year time skip. He also trained pretty hard earlier on, not quite as close to death, but still pretty tough.
Hyperbolic Time Chamber isnt dangerous to Z Fighter but to normal people it would be horrendously dangerous. The gravity in the Chamber is much stronger than earth's gravity, any normal person would immediatly fall and be unable to get up, eventually dying of starvation.
As far as training goes, DBZ character train in conditions that are beyond human. I seriously doubt the guys from Naruto could stand in 100 times earth's normal gravity. Or survive training in a Meteor shower. Z Fighters train under ridiculous conditions that Naruto character's could not even fathom.
If this is still a debate? Why isnt it obvious people?? Goku could solo the entire Naruto Universe. Has the planet's stability ever come into question in Naruto?! I don't believe it has. Planets are in constant danger just by Z fighter's battling on them.

The levels of temperature change in the chamber. Some times its freezing snow and sometimes everything appears to be on fire. No normal person is safe in that room.
That is true, we all know who's stronger... I mean Goku was on par with Superman without even going Super Saiyan, so we know he's strong. (Note: Yes, they actually did do a comic where Goku and Superman fought. I haven't read it, but I do know that Goku won by going Super Saiyan.)
EDIT: Sorry, I misunderstood my sources... A third party (Wizard Magazine) made a battle between the two as a one-pager. But still, it is most likely that Superman would lose to a force which can potentially destroy a planet.

No goku would die horribly against Superman, heat vision would kill him, freeze breathe would kill him, Superman is faster, stronger and more durable and has defeated universal threats. Please read up on Superman before making retarded statements.
Wizard Magazine did the Goku vs. Superman fight a long time ago and gave it to Goku. (he can destroy planets if he wanted too) As far as DBZ and Naruto, I like the manga better for DBZ and Naruto. The tv shows are always too drawn out. That being said I enjoy the action of the DBZ tv show more so than Naruto. But to be fair I haven't seen the latest season. (I had more free time back when DBZ was on the air)

Goku has never canonically fought Superman, and Wizards of the Coast own neither Superman nor Goku, so what they say matters little.
Truth is that Superman can easily bust planets, solar systems actually, and he can move faster then light continuosly. Goku can only do so when using IT.
