As for reflexes, he has not shown to be "way" faster than Spiderman, I would say he is faster, but he is not that fast all things considered, maybe low-end hypersonic.

As for his ability, it does not translate.

You would have a point if all it did was destroy Smith's physical body... But it didn't. It deleted him, though instead of being sent to the Source as a program normally would be, it "freed" him from it. He has only done this to a program, and Superman for instance is not a computer program that can be deleted.

A good analogy would be giving Star Wars characters the ability to use the "Destroy Droid" power (Yes there is one) to immediately kill human enemies.
Spiderman can't stand still and dodge bullets.Neos is way faster then spiderman.

Comics are a form of an alternate reality within themselves, just as the Matrix is. I could just as easily say Superman's powers wouldn't work against Neo's human form because to John Anderson Superman is just a comic book character. That's not the intent of this exercise at all.

It's all fiction.

What makes Neo's powers any different or less acceptable than a character like Proteus, another reality warping body hopper (of a higher magnitude, granted)?

You can't pick and choose like that.
no, neo's "powers" in the matrix are his understanding that it is not real and his mind (all the one's of each matrix for that matter) has the most potential to bend the coding. this will not work in the real world as exhibited by neo in the films, all he could do is stop machines in their tracks among other things cause of his interaction with the agent smith code.

superman's powers work on marvel earth and the matrix's earth (the darkness might pose a problem in time) cause the sun is indeed there and acts the same, this is pretty much universally true in all earth's in fictional media.

what you want to do is change neo's powers so they apply universally, but i see many problems that will stem from that since it's too much of a stretch.

if it was a robotic character like say deathlok then you have a case to use neo's full powerset, but against most characters too much has to be altered.

Don't know, don't care. But you're not going to neuter a character just because he could wtfpwn your favorite character.

And obviously he could wtfpwn mine as well.

imo, it's not that his powers don't work outside of dc, it's that he can only hope to speed steal from his fellow dc characters cause they bring their connection to the speed force with them to the nuetral universe.

other companies characters don't develop a connection to the speed force just so flash's can manipulate them on a whim

You should care. Because the Matrix is a context-specific power up much like Mephisto's realm. A home field advantage. If he had the same powers outside of the Matrix as he does inside (as is the case with Flash who has super speed whether he's traveling through the Speed Force itself or through normal space) you might have a case.

I have no problem giving Neo his full powers so long as the fight takes place in the Matrix.

So in other words you're still limiting Flash's powers to the DCU.

And yet you're still whining about a rule that's already in place.

Why are you so afraid of neo that you're actively trying to neuter him despite a rule that's already in place? What character do you not want to see him fight?

Honestly given that there's something of a gap between his feats and his implied powers I don't want him in any thread. He's a no-limits fallacy waiting to happen.

Is he Spider-Man level? Superman level? Galactus level?

His dodging and combat I'd say isn't that high. Spiderman level.

And I have to disagree with BBz

The fact that his feat can't stay in the same place without him moving his feat at all and he can dodge hundreds of bullets.Prove this.

But he doesn't.He doesn't have super combat abilities outside of the matrix, the ability to fly, stop bullets etc...

To be fair, Spiderman fights people who are not as shitty shots as in the Matrix.

Also, your argument is one that... Well it doesn't mean anything to be honest. no expression Whether his feet are in one place or not doesn't matter.

no expression

Really?Thats your argument?That they have bad shots?Wow.Epic fail.Just...fail.

And yes it does matter.Because if you can dodge bullets without moving its more impressive then if you are.See how that works?

Actually guess which one we see more?

oh and why that matters:

quote:
Also, all characters, regardless of where the fight takes place, or what universe/medium they are native to, will have full access to their abilities at optimum efficiency as they are depicted in their native universes. It will be assumed that each character fights as they are normally presented regardless of battle locale. This means that, for example, Flash will in fact have SpeedForce abilities if the battle took place in Marvel Manhattan. Battles will always take place on an assumed equal playing field.

That fancy dodging could be broken through by aiming at anything waist-down, and since damn near everyone in Matrix has alleged superhuman aiming abilities, they should be able to do it.

I was also partly joking.

No, it's actually not. no expression It is not a matter of speed so much as technique.

Edit: Are people arguing Neo should not get any of his powers in normal threads? Because that is stupid.
