The Slump characters are canon to the DBZ universe? Magicians and scientists? What, like Dr. Briefs and Babidi? They are a non-factor. Pyron can continuously kill large groups by releasing his power over and over again.

Since when, they appeared in the early manga and where central to the plot of early Dragonball. They continuously appear in each other's universes. So, it's safe to assume they are in the same universe.

Yes, the same Scientist and magicians that created Time-Machines, Shrink Rays, and ships that can traverse anywhere. Nevermind that they created buu and Cell. Now they are all working together and if they have access to the room of Spirit and Time think what they can do. Pyron kills alot of them, but not all of them.
