Glaring back, Rori was struggling to keep himself
from lashing out. He could feel his blood pounding, part of him urging
his body into action. How long could he hang on?
Blood...
A scarlet drop runs down his friend's wrist. A drop of the perfect
shade of red making its way towards the ground. He is transfixed
by it. By its passage through space. Time is infinite... The drop is
frozen there, midair, never able to touch the ground... For a
predator all it takes is one drop... Just the mere scent to make
them go in for the kill...
"You fool!"
He snapping upwards, Rori glared at Avery. His pupil, originally
an irregular diamond shape, was fluxing. They expanded to the
extent of almost engulfing his iris, and quickly contracting to the
shape and form of a normal human eye.
Blood....
His body called for more of it to be spilled... For him to feast...
"Do you realize wot you've awoken in me?!?!?!"
By there own accord, his lips parted and his tongue whip across his
extended canines. Somewhere in the back of his mind, the human
part of Rori attempted to stop, to pause and try to analyze everything
rationally. But the time for rational thought was over...
Driven insane by his lust for blood in addition to his anger, Rori
grinned widely - a display of fangs and dripping venom...

Rose poked Shiki, "You need to get up now! Rori is gonna kill Avery! We
need to get moving!" poke poke poke.
Avery looked up at Rori, still growling at his friend.
"I don't care what I've awoken. Fight me, and if I win I get you! If I lose,
then I'm your dinner. How's that Rori? Work for your animal?" Avery had lost
himself as well to the fight, but for all together different reasons. His hormones were driving him mad, and the only way he could think to satiate them was to
win Rori. The only way he knew how to win Rori was to engage in combat,
just like in Avery's books.
"Or you too chicken to fight me?! Worried your going to kill your 'best friend'?!?
You killed me when you made me into this!! So F*cking end this!"
Rose poked Shiki again, "Shiki.....they're gonna kill each other....."
Mori decided that this was the best time for him to take a leak and wandered
out of the car. Seeing that Rori was in his more animalistic mindset mori walked
over to try and calm him down. His drunk mind didn't realize that
Rori was highly dangerous and there was venom spewing from his mouth.
What his mind did tell him was: Don't Worry, Be Happy . So
That's what Mori did. He focused on Avery and Rori and closed his eyes, giggling
at first then breaking out into laughter as he absorbed the negative energy
from the two warriors. He knew it wouldn't last too long, and they needed
Shiki to help. But it would work at least until Shiki was willing to get himself
out of the car.

Grabbing the closest thing to him, Rori flung it at
Avery. Unfortunately, the closest thing to him was Mori and as
he crashed into Avery both flew backwards. Stalking forwards,
the red beast seemed to grin with glee until another figure appeared
before him. Still clad in the cloak with his eyes closed, Shiki emanated anger.
"Rose. Grab Mori, get back in the van and close your eyes. I'll
attempt to deal with these two."
He honestly didn't want to try this, but it was the only option.

Rose scooped Mori up and ran back in to the car, locking the doors and
covering their eyes. He knew that something bad was going to happen
and he didn't want to be a part of it.
Avery lunged at Rori, knowing full well it was futile to even try.
He had never really been in a fight before, and he had no idea
what to do. The closest was when he was little, but Rori always protected him.
Now it was Rori himself that he needed protection from.

His reflexes were sharper than any human's should be.
As Avery lunged, Rori's arm shot out and wrapped around his
"friend's" neck. Claw's piercing flesh, Rori laughed, paying no heed to
the elder experiment who threatened to interfere.
From the time of the definite click of the car door, Shiki counted. Ten
seconds... Ten seconds should be more than enough time for the twins
to ready themselves. He just hoped that a layer of metal and closed
eyes would save them.
Ten...
Nine...
Eight...
Seven...
Rori was snickering and it sounded like someone was choking.
Six...
Five...
"Blood...."
No time.
Eyes open now, Shiki saw the two redheads collapse in the tall grass.

Avery woke up in a field. His head hurt slightly but other than that he was fine.
The wounds on his neck were just scars. He looked up from where he was now
sitting to find Rori chasing after some bugs.
"What are you doing? And where the hell are we?" He was more than slightly
worried that he was dead, or close to it.

Avery shook Rori awake.
"Roar! You promised you'd play catch with me!" The sadness in his eyes wasn't
there and all he seemed concerned with was trying to wake his friend up.
"You're such a lazy bum!" He pushed him again slightly, inciting him to play.

Such a loud voice...
Rolling over onto his stomach with a grunt, Rori dared to open his eyes.
Somehow, he wasn't exactly sure how, Avery had managed to not
only escape but to also strike back. How... No... What the Hell
did he do? Damn... Now he "belonged" to him. Maybe if he just lay
still Avery would think he was unconscious and would leave him be.
If only for a short time... And for just a bit long he wouldn't belong to him.

this time he wouldn't try to rip his throat out.
"Um....Hi Rori?"

Practically jumping to his feet, Rori stared at the happy Avery in
surprise. Grabbing him by the shoulders, he stared right at him.

Avery knew he must be dead, but he didn't care because he was in heaven.
He returned the kiss and smiled, pulling Rori down with him.
"What's with the change in attitude? I thought you hated me...not that I'm
complaining, it's nice, just wondering." He didn't want to come back to life
if this was death.

"That I want ice cream when you two come back from your date. Strawberry,
I want strawberry, can you remember that? please? Last time you brought
back chocolate chip...blech...anyway....what about you and Kirin? Is there
trouble in paradise? I mean...you've been going out for like a couple of
months now." Avery smiled and cocked his head slightly.

"Change in attitude? Wot are ya talking about, idiot?"
The grin still had yet to leave his face. Instead, Rori's fingers began
to tease Avery's stomach.
"Having fun, Avery? I do hope you like paradise."
The voice rang out from the clear blue sky, startling a flock of birds.

Him an' Kirin.... No, it wasn't possible, Avery is messing with him.
"Stop it, Avvie! Stop mockin' me. I'll do wot you want, just stop."
But Avery wasn't about to stop, he ran off in the opposite direction
in pursuit of a large butterfly.
"So.... You feel that way about Kirin, do you?"
Spinning about, Rori nearly yelped in surprise at the sudden
appearance of a displease Shiki. The illusionist had let the cloak
fall from his shoulders so that while it still engulfed him in a cloud
of fabric his face and the fury there were clearly visible.

Avery giggled slightly and kissed Rori again. When he heard the
voice he looked around.
" Why does god sound like Shiki? Hm...doesn't matter" He went back
to kissing Rori.
"I guess I don't know what I'm talking about....so keep doing that roar."

Avery came back with the butterfly caged in his hands.
"Rori, I'm not mocking you. Check your wallet." Avery smashed the butterfly.
"There's pictures of you two, you show everyone you meet. It's quite
annoying after a while." Avery licked the butterfly off his hand.

"Avery. I think its best if you let Rori and me have
a little talk right now. How about you go visit the other Rori."
Mock happiness was painted into Shiki's tone as he glared at Rori.
The illusionist was not pleased. No, not at all. He was, of course,
his sister's keeper and he was not about to let just anyone go
after her. Especially not some blood-hungry animal.
"There you go, Avery. Yes, right that way. I'm sure Rori will be happy to see you! Yes, very happy. Ok, bye for now."
His smile was so false it terrified Rori. Who knew that someone so
very human could be fiercer than a half-starved beast. He would have
run for it, but the cold glint in the illusionist's eyes eluded to the unchangeable
fact that if he tried Shiki would stop at nothing to make Rori feel pain.
Better ter face my fear 'ead on...

Rori tickled Avery more while grinning impishly. Behind him,
however, a dark hole had formed and from it another Avery emerged.

Avery giggled and smiled up at Rori.
"I....I love you Rori..." Avery blushed. He had wanted to confess that to Rori
but he knew that he would never be able to accept that his best friend
loved him.
"I love you too!" Rori giggled, far more bubbly than normal.
The other Avery was off trying to catch more butterflies, as he had found them
to be quite tasty.
"One date....that's all I ask...please I wanna try...just one date." Avery looked up
into those yellow eyes, baring his soul to the beast.
"Okay!" Rori smiled, kissing Avery again.

"Avery! Avery! Look, a butterfly! Do you want a butterfly?"
Little kid Avery had manage to catch not one, not two, but five
butterflies in total. Currently he crouched right next to the two lovers,
a hand holding a captured butterfly thrust between the two. He
smiled brightly, eyes squinted up in joy as he offered forth his prize.

"You're...me....um....no thanks?" He looked to Rori for help.
"Why don't you go catch more butterflies Avvie? Good boy.
Avery and I were a bit busy.
Grownup things all all that. Alright?"
Avery didn't care if there were two of him, he had his Rori, and that's all that
mattered. He nestled up against Rori's strong chest and started to drift a bit
to sleep.
