I dispute that. After all, the Surfer has a lot of time on his hands, wandering the cosmos, talking to himself. I imagine at some point, he'll start calling his board, Wilson.

yes but Surfer's not got the hero-worship going on 24/7, like Superman has. that stuff messes with the head even more, making him into a cross between a father figure and a flying policeman.
hmm, you've got me wondering what exactly Surfer calls his board. the whole "to me, my board" thing sounds like it's just for public speaking, that he has a private, intimate, name for it when soaring across the spaceways ... I'm tempted to suggest Amy (after Amy Ackers) but that's 'cos I'm a Buffy fan.
I think "board" is as far as he's gotten...I don't even think he capitalizes the "B." Certainly, if he feminizes the board...well, you can imagine the power-cosmic possibilities.

I thought it was also. But another poster said it might have been the hammer itself. But it wasn't depicted showing Thor throwing the hammer so I'm inclined to believe it was a energy blast.

I see Tharg has been restricted as I predicted. Socking is such a waste of time it really just shows what lack of life some of these people have to keep coming back here and to get banned over and over again.
No, it could just be back lash of the Thor knocking superman with hammer in hand.
Thor lighting has never shown to hit some one with the angle that it was drawn. It usually comes from the sky(above) the target.
The next pannel with Thor the hammer seems to be radiating with lighting which makes me belive that it was just backlash nothing more.
This fight can really go either way. Superman has overcome more odds and still arose victorious in the end...more so than Silver Surfer ever has. Don't count Superman out...he CAN beat Norrin.
