Obviously inspired by the late Andre the Giant, Hugo, along with his other family members, were part of the Mad Gear Gang (and later, Skull Cross) before Haggar and company went sickhouse on all of them.
Deciding to go legit, Hugo, along with his (newhalf) manager Poison, take up professional wrestling...although it's not the loser's choice to join. On a side note, he took Ryu's Shinshoryuken without being KO'ed.

Do you feel that Hugo will be able to match the might of Mike Haggar this time or will the big man himself still reamins on top of beating Hugo? Hugo has been training alot and has gotten stronger during the time too. He even survived Ryu's strongest move, but still lost to Ryu though. Mike Haggar has gotten alot astronger and better at what he does too and he still was never defeated by anyone and Hugo would break his record if he did finally win. Knowing haggar, he won't let Hugo win so easily.

Neither Poisin or Roxy is a Tranny, Futa, etc.
Its all an urban legend.
They were never males, what happened is during the games developement, a lie was set up to keep the characters in the game. during the localization the american playtesters was concerned about the protaganist hitting a female enemy. It was then decided that the characters would be called trannies in order to keep them in the game. It didnt realy work out as planned. Ever Since then the lie has been ran with. Posin and Roxy are both females. In the eyes of the creator Akira and NOT Ono! Poisin is considered a "transexual" as a cover-up.
I should also mention, it is not a fact that Hugo was in FF. It is only fact that he is an Andore. So those stats posted above from FF may not be retconned, they might quite possibly belong to a completely different Andore.

So sure go trust the man who DIDNT create the characters, but just comes from the same company, and has worked on mega man and Street fighter most his life. No disrespect to Ono, That guy is amazingly cool. But simply its a lie. Ever since it was made its been repeated. Until Akira himself honestly confirms it they are Females, 100%.
That may be true but that doesnt mean hes nessecarily a reliable source himself. Again it was a lie started to keep the characters in the game during its localization. Dont believe the truth if you want but alot of FF fans like myself are well aware of the urban legend, drivin by the company itself. Oh and by the way I saw the interview articale.
Its fine and ok to trust well known journalist, but remember journalism IS STILL journalism. Its not really the best form of reliability. just saying. But poison is a female.
Ono and his guys are kinda like the masters of SF now. He can pretty say anything he wants and if it goes againts the story, well then, consider it a retcon. Dude is the boss.

Considering that the whole thing was a lie during the localization in the first place. Why Capcom stuck with it after all these years I just don't know, but it sturrs up to much BS. Think about it the story doesnt even make sense. A boy born to rich parents, grew got a sex change, and joined a gang to pull off petty crimes? Cmon now?

Sigh. I'm not gonna argue with you. This has been fact for over a decade. It's been verified by Capcom Wiki, Street Fighter Wiki, Fighters Generation, Capcom Classics Collection, and Ono himself. Poison was born a boy, then got a sex change. He's a newhalf in Final Fight, but later on he's a post-op tranny. Look it up, accept it and move on.
