You find out that the Twi'lek is employed by Jabba the Hutt, a local crimelord that you have brought bounties to in the past, when the prices are high. But he's nothing special; Jabba won't miss him. No bounties on him.
"I vote we disintegrate him," Snith says. "You go first!"

Renting out a landspeeder is no problem. Quality is another matter. Snith absolutely insists that he tweak a few things before you take your leave of Mos Eisley, but that takes no time at all.
Snith also takes the opportunity to impress another thing upon you.
"Another reason I wanted to wait until morning," Snith says. "You've no doubt heard of the Sand People?"

"They're not the only things out there at night," Snith says, then climbs into the landspeeder.
Snith insists that you drive, but requests a stop at his ship, first. When you get there, he hops out and walks in. When he returns, he has a strange tubular device strapped to his back and is carrying a large blaster rifle. He's also donned goggles to protect against the sand.
"All set for the Dune Sea!" Snith says, tossing himself into the passenger seat.

He then pulls the tubular object off his back.
"Mortar launcher. I've got a few thermal detonators that it can send a decent distance..."
