Other members have given several examples of what is in their opinion the most 'controversial' song ever. Several examples, and no definate one. I never said that mine was the most controversial. Although I still do find it controversial.

What else can there be said. He said **** a few times. It got censored a bit. How is it controversial? Did people blockade streets to get it from being shipped? Were I agree commissions wtarted to control th amount of saying **** in songs due to it? Did anyone even discuss it beyond..."Haha, that Reznor guy sure is a rebel...lolz"? How could you in any reasonable sense consider it to be one of the Most Controversial Songs? ****, who in their right mind would put it in a top 100 of controversial songs.
So, sure I jumped on the bandwagon. AC and VVD don't post that often and I fully agree with the sentiment they stated. In fact, if you look back I didn't even comment on your choice at first, I commented on a side matter I believe you misunderstood. You made it about the song again. Seriously, stop your crying, if you are going to say stupid shit people will point it out. Maybe check Gaia's Music Forum, I hear only shallow kids post there, no one will give you shit about your opinion there.

Did people blockade streets to get it from being shipped? Dude, it's a song, and I don't think any song has been able to do something like that, so stop being stupid. I consider it to be controversial because of the amount of attention it received along with the music video (at least it got lots of attention where I'm from). It was in the town paper about how a church was upset about certain music, and NIN was one of the bands being attacked. It's not just the use of the word 'f*ck', but the song's overall lyrical content. If it was just about 'f*ck', that would be a pretty shitty reason. The song itself is about sex (which in itself can be a touchy subject), however the potency of the song lies in the perverse use of its lyrics. Thus why I dubbed it controversial. I wouldn't expect you to understand (even more so since you aren't from here). I myself don't find the song controversial, but many people do. I'm not offended by known forms of entertainment.
And just for the record, I'm not whining like you say I am. This is a forum where individuals get to state their opinions and back what they say. I'm merely stating mine, so calm down. Another thing, your posts borderline on being rude. Is that really necessary?
Before I forget, I've been meaning to ask you something, Bardock. Do you deliberately try and mimic what AC and VVD say? Do you want to appear as a musical elitist? Maybe you feel the need to kiss a** since AC has owned you so many times. I suppose that's understandable, though, seeing as how you can't think for yourself. I can see why they burn you, pathetic waste of skin.
While that statement is true (partially), I'm sure many sensitive people would find those songs offensive as well. 'Closer' is one of the songs that has perfected that formula, in my opinion.

I figured that you thought it was controversial, which might be said for the video, but there was no public outcry. No official counter actions. It just didn't generate much controversy. I am sure your town paper discussed it heatedly, but on the whole it came and went and no one was really worried.
