But in the second scan you can see the lightning/blast hitting Superman knocking him through the trees. Then Superman unleashed the Thor-Buster.

So the bottom line is Thor did use some of his hammers abilities during the fight.

nice...

My heart says supes, my head says thor (assuming he's packing the hammer, and is on the very top of his game). otherwise i'd go for supes given his versatility and nevergiveupability... yes, i made that word up...

going by those scans (although i dont know how to judge how resistant supes is to the hammer), supes could well take it...

If supes went super speed, Thor would never even hit him.

In the issue before Thor nailed Supes dead on in the face with the hammer but Supes was back in action a moment later.

With flying speed that may be true, but considering Superman has never speedblitzed at light speed I think Thor is safe. Especially considering Thor can swing Mjolnir at multiples of the speed of light.

What makes more sense?

Batman taking Supermans punches or Namor taking hammer shot?

And that 8/10 is only going to happen 25% of the time, I feel like Chevy Chase now.

It's a constant comic piece, of course Superman holds back and so does Thor.

Next item for discussion as who holds back doesn't mean much in this discussion other then the fact they both do it.

Thor always holds back which has been stated as much many times in comics. Most notably was by Captain America.

Have you read The Blood and Thunder arc? thats Thor not holding back. wink

Let's assume that neither was holding back during JLA/Avengers due to the circumstances. I just can't believe it's been three years and I just f*cking noticed Superman took a blast from the mighty hammer of Thor.

Yes but don't forget, Thor walked right through Supes heat vision also.
