Some guy was selling a big box of porn on VHS for $5. I bought it and found nothing out of the ordinary...damn..I was hoping to find something retro or vintage good stuff.

Yeah. There are many titles that are really hard to find and never even got to DVD, so that's why I keep the VCR around for my collection of...adult educational films. big grin

Yes,

Infact I'd say more then half my collection is on VHS. So hundreds of them. As far as VCR's I have stand alone unit and two attached to TV's.

As to whether I use them. Yes at least as often as I watch DVDs.

In truth. VHS is still my prefered format in many ways. While I like DVDs for special features and the like. They will never beat VHS in playability/durability. I can find a VHS that has been buried in the back of a closet for 20 years collecting dust with boxes sitting on top of, stick in a vcr and it'll play. DVDs are hit or miss whether they'll play when you first open them.

I still use tapes. IMHO they were the most durable technology. Shit, I still have 1980's Ninja Turtles cartoons that work like a charm. If you look at a blue-ray or DVD crossed-eyed it will shatter, shitty technology -- I think they were designed so that people have to spend more money.

There is still so much vintage and classic adult films that haven't made it to dvd yet. There are torrents but I avoid those like a plague.

There was a yard sale a few blocks from my place and the guy was asking too much money for a few wcw, wwf, awa and other wrestling videos.

I watched Evil Dead on VHS with a few friends the other day for the first time in a long time. I have to say, watching it on video really gave me a kick. Sure the sound was dodgy and the pictures had the typical aged video look, but it really was a new and exciting experience.

After doing this i've decided to collect all the old horror films on VHS even though i'll probably be doubling up on a fair few movies. I really have to say though, its a feel i don't get from dvd, probably the nostaliga of renting horror movies out on vhs when i was a kid. I think its a great idea to collect old videos smile

Recently transfered our latest shortmovie over to a nicely kept VHS tape somehow gave it a very special look which I am happy about.

Anyway. I was curious if anyone with a new and decent surround reciver has tried to upscale a VHS signal and output it with HDMI?

How dose that look?
