The guy who created Hancock is Vietnamese, so I really don't see how the story pushes Southern black stereotypes. And Hancock isn't even human anyways. So implying that the movie is racist is about as dumb as when Hitler said that Superman is Jewish (referring to the issue where he arrested Hitler and Stalin).
If the actor who played Hancock was Native American, then I would agree that its racist.
Because "Injuns" being nothing but alcoholics who do nothing with their life but blow their monthly government support checks on booze is a terrible stereotype that tends to be true.
Don't worry about where I live, it's no business of your's. And from that comment, it's like you're saying "Oh, you live in Alabama? You're an automatic dumbass!"

I saw it last night, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was totally different than I had expected, way more dramatic, and I found it refreshing. I thought the story and the acting were very good, and the effects were very well done.
Well it is a good movie..not a must watch though. The movie begins with Smith (Hancock) out of favour with the public because of the damage he
causes during his duty. What he really yearns for is love.He gets the help of a PR analyst (brilliantly portrayed by Json Bateman) and is immediately attracted to his wife (Charliza Theron)...with due course of time they find out that they are both super-humans living together for the last 3000 years and they never do age. They are created together and they will perish together too...a new plot but it's okay...considering "I am legend" gave you headaches, this one could be watched once...
saw it a few days ago. I kinda had to take into consideration of what rotten tomatoes giving it a rotten, cuz of the leaky premise and waht not.
i liked most of the movie. will smith is great, i liked it until [SPOILER - highlight to read]: the other girl charlize had her powers and brought up this, we're gods, built in pairs dealio, just ruined it for me! decent movie

A hard-living superhero who has fallen out of favor with the public enters into a questionable relationship with the wife of the public relations professional who's trying to repair his image.
With Will Smith, Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman.
I loved this! Will Smith is hilarious as usual and I really enjoyed the humour between his and Theron's character. [SPOILER - highlight to read]: The bit with the obnoxious kid who keeps calling Hancock an '@sshole' until Hancock throws him up into the air to terrify him, absolutely classic.
