Given that your favourite movies list contains pretty much only super hero movies and also two Scary Movie movies, I don't think I can take your opinion very seriously.

All things considered, I think we can scratch your name from the 'People To Respect and Listen To' list.
Yeah, I'm on the list. So are all my friends, and we win. Nuh.

Batman fans are far less annoying than SW or Star Trek fans. This is coming from a SW fan, mind you.

Lies. The worst are LotR fans...
Just look at the amount of hate-mail people have recieved from giving negative reviews to the LotR fans. It's sad, really- I mean, c'mon. Sure, I actually love the LotR movies... but they get extremely boring at certain points.
That being said, however, I haven't actually watched The Dark Knight yet, but I can assure you that a huge amount for the acclaim it received is Heath Ledger's death. People feel bad giving that movie bad reviews... but, aside from that, I don't believe it's fair to call the Batman fans around here "Ubwr fanboyz!!!" just because they happened to LIKE the bloody movie. A huge amount of the reason for people liking movies is because they like its theme. I'm an SW fan- doesn't it mean I'm gonna love a Star Wars movie 'cause it's STAR WARS? It's everyone's right, lol.
And to respond to the OP... I have no doubt in my mind that TDK is gonna be better than the first Die Hard. And besides? Why don't movie likes the Godfather, Schindler's list, and stuff like that be dismissed as 'just movies'? Why doesn't TDK deserve to be acclaimed like these movies?
Yes, Bardock. I listen to and respect myself. How strange.

It's seriously overrated IMO. It's a good movie but there were parts which really annoyed me. Batman's voice for example was the stupidest put-on voice I've ever heard. I can't believe the director let him get away with that. It sounds ridiculous and embarrassing. Aside from that, the movie was too long and there was too much going on. Not concise. The script was great, and Heath was very good.
Just got back from seeing it at the cinema. A lot of things annoyed me to no end, the music for example, it seemed to be going on in the background constantly, it's supposed to be there to build tension, but a lot of the time it did the opposite. Secondly, the film had a lot of odd holes - like that Italian bloke that Batman threw off a building, I would have thought that was at least a broken ankle, but towards the end he just strolls into his car. Also, I've never read a Batman comic, but was it specified that once he gets into the suit he must begin talking like a pedophile with a throat infection?
Overall, the movie was quite good, nothing more. Ledger's performance was very good, though I still think he was better in Brokeback...

I don't think that the comics or the cartoons ever specify Wayne changing his voice, but it's there to add realism. Though I do agree on it not being a good voice-change.
Agree with the Brokeback part, hands down his finest role.
Oh, right...So now ****ing kids and then eating their brains is also a no-no? Get real! Everyone does it.
