Well, I spoke with Pepsi yesterday, and I didn't like what I was told.
The 15 minute phone interview went very well, actually. The questions were cake and the lady interviewer was exceptionally nice.
The only thing I didn't like was when she told me that I would be notified via e-mail on the decision in 2 to 3 weeks time.
Seriously? Man, I can't f*cking wait that long. I mean, I am drawing unemployment, and the money does help with my bills. My car, by the way, is 100% PAID THE F*CK OFF!!! I no longer have a car note! That is a big plus to my household. I used a good chunk of my check to pay my rent yesterday which was from last damn month. My landlord is very cool, though, and she was more than willing to work with me.
I'm with my wife at my cousin's locksmith shop. My wife found another job! She's working for my cousin, the locksmith, at his shop as the "shopkeep", if you will. While Brian is out on service calls, the wife tends the shop by answering calls, taking messages, cutting keys, and other basic apprentice work. I used to work for my cousin while I was in high school for a good while, and while I am currently looking for a job, I am here with her and helping her out. I can help her find the correct key blank to cut from the very numerous wall of key blanks, and other such tasks. She is liking it, so far, since it is a very laid back job with very little labor.
I, myself, am going to go and re-apply for a position in TDCJ (Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice) today. However, I am NOT going to apply for a guard position. I am going to go to the Transportation Division and apply to be a bus driver. As all of you know, I have a CDL (Commercial Drivers Licence) and I know how to drive 18 wheelers, trucks, and other large machinery. My cousin, Chris, is a driver for Transpo and he says nothing but good things about his job. He tells me that with his connections, he can almost definitely get me on with Transpo. All he does is drive a prison bus, filled with inmates, and drives them from Point A to Point B. Easy peezy Japanesey. He gets weekends and holidays off, and works from about 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mon thru Fri.
It sounds like a hoot, if you ask me. And with my prior experience as a TDCJ officer, I'm sure that I can get in. We'll see, though.
Damn brother, that sucks @ pepsi. Hopefully you get the driving job definitely. Just be cool, calm and collective and you'll be just fine man. No doubt.

Well, I'm temporarily employed at my cousin's locksmith shop. I used to work for him as an apprentice about 14 years ago when I was in high school. The job is relatively easy. I mean, all I have to do is watch the shop, cut copies of keys, rekey some locks, make code keys, and answer phone calls and take messages. He can't affored to pay me much, but, hey, it's f*cking money, guys! I'm not going to be here long, but for the time being, I have internet access and I can continue to pump out online apps and look for gainful employment. The best option I have so far is going to drive prison buses for TDCJ. I'd be lying if I said that I wanted to go back to TDCJ, but I have no room to barter since A) I am unemployed, B) I have a family to take care of, and C) TDCJ will hire ANY slag off that applies.
We'll see how this gig works out for now. I also am receiving my unemployment money. I told my wife, "We're officially not up to our necks in a vat of shit anymore. We're just waist deep now."
All the ways you wish you could be, that's me. I look like you wanna look, I **** like you wanna ****, I am smart, capable, and most importantly, I am free in all the ways that you are not.
