No no I just mean that Obama does have the reigns or the Football or the secret plans to spread AIDS across the world and then cure it with the blood of our Jesus like mutant savior "El Cristobian" thus conquering the world with pure untainted love and a large amount of blood cocktails.

Obama isn't "really" president yet even though Bush's lame duck months have been going on for a very long time.

Both parties have their grubby little hands all over this financial mess.

You can certainly blame Iraq squarely on the shoulders of the President, but for our financial crisis, our entire government gets the blame, and rightly so.

Oh wow, Obama just said "God bless the United States of America" In his acceptance speech,I don't recall him saying that before.... at all.

Yeah, I know that. I am trying to get as many jabs in at Bush before he leaves.

He has said that many a time. He said it yeterday at the end of his speech.

Apparently you don't listen to many speeches. I've heard it 3-4 times in the last few days from him.

Voted for Barr, but among the 2 with a legit shot at winning, I'm happy Obama won. Yes, libertarian/pseudo-socialist doesn't seem to jive terribly well, but economics aren't the only issue in the election. Social issues, foreign policy, education, etc. I'm with Obama, and I don't like anything about Republicans (with limited, unimportant exceptions).

No I don't listen to many speeches by any candidate because most of them are all BS, all the same issues politicians have been campaigning on for decades and nothing ever gets fixed/changed.

maybe this time something will actually get done, but I'm not holding my breath. We will see what kind of legislation comes down the pipe the first 6 months, if it might actually be useful or just partisan crap.

I don't like republicans either, I like conservatives and it seems those are few and far between.

Agreed. I didn't say the speeches weren't bloated rhetoric (part of the reason I voted libertarian), but I just refuted that Obama hadn't invoked God in his speeches as you suggested, because he often does.

I have heard him speak of his faith and God generally, but I had not heard him say "God bless the United States of America" until tonight. Hearing him say it made me feel slightly less scared about there being a liberal democrat in the white house.

Doesn't matter anymore, but Obama won Indiana just barely. I think he also won NC, on CNN.com he's ahead with 100% of the votes in, but they haven't called it yet.

And amazingly, he's behind in Missouri by just under 400 votes.

I just want to say that I find it hilarious some of the reactions I'm getting from friends who voted McCain, now that Obama has won.

"God save us, I'm moving to Canada!" - Well, isn't Canada more liberal and socialist than America is or will be under Obama?

"Hope you liked America, we're doomed." - Doomed? Really? Why didn't America explode the last time we had a Democratic President? Or did we all forget Clinton's surplus?

It's kind of ridiculous.

The last president wasn't a terrorist. With Osama Hussein in the whitehouse it will be 911 times a millions. Yes....911000.

We conservatives suffered under 8 years of Clinton, and Obama seems far more liberal than Clinton was.

Now with a clear majority in the house senate and a liberal democrat in the white house, you are going to see frightened conservatives all over. I'm scared ****less.....and I'm fearless.

Now the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reed are in complete control because they have a president who'll sign anything they send him.

We are also back to the good old days of walkouts on capitol hill, when the party in control legislates at their extreme, the other party walks out and does not vote (the legislation passes anyway). this has been done by both parties in the past and is never good IMO.

How did conservatives suffer exactly under Clinton?

He raised taxes even on the middle class.

His 1993 Budget which I think is when we began giving big refunds to people who paid no taxes (a redistribution of wealth)

the "assault weapons ban" which is now expired.

his pathetic response to the bombing of our embassies

NAFTA (look where that got us) it got us that sucking sound that Ross Perot warned us about as those American companies left to do business outside our borders.
Those are a few off the top of my head. shall I continue?
