That's not the biggest problem. the Security Council is. Nothing can get it done if you pit Russia vs. China vs. US.

Reports of both sides not following the cease fire. Ossetian looters in Gori. Russians claim Georgians still in firing positions and have snipers, Russians not backing off from main national highway or other positions. Russian officials STILL claim they and their subordinates are not in Gori, although Al Jazeera has video evidence of the fighting there. "Not entered" might be a linguistic trick.
In the Western port city of Poti, Russian ships sunk Georgian ships, long after the ceasefire was called.
AND!!!!
America is sending troops to Georgia as peacekeepers and for humanitarian aid....

Oh dear. Though I'm really not sure how to treat this news, I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

The Russians will not attack any area of Georgia that has US Troops in it...
However, I wouldn't be surprised if Georgia tried to get them to attack.

Hmm, I suppose good time for a war...though a skirmish between Russia and the US could really hurt Obama.

Look at it this way; Everything will hurt Obama. This guy's a joke, just like the american election.
I reckon Russia will do anything near the american troops, they'll just go arround, and probably yell obscenities at the UN.

Well, the way it's written wouldn't suggest that at all.
Edit: Do you know what my post was referring to?

I have changed it to could, though I think that a war would bring out all the pluses in McCain. A war with the Commie threat is no time for a man who doesn't love America and can't say the pledge of Allegiance. (All propaganda I know).

I don't know, really. The fact that what seems to have won over a lot of Obama's supporters is his policies on the Iraq war, could possibly suggest him keeping such supporters, were this conflict to escalate.
It would all depend on how he addressed the conflict, again - were it to escalate to involve NATO, (which I highly doubt will happen).

Obama will speak of peace. He won't retract the US soldiers from Georgia, but will go against anything that might make this conflict escalade in importance. And he will surely not involve NATO in this.
II guess we can say the Russians timed their attack pretty well.

I think you are painting Obama as too much a pacifist
he is more gung ho for military action in Pakistan then I believe McCain is.

Is it okay to say Dubya and his office played Georgia like a puppet to swing polls in McCain's favour?

Allegedly the U.S. are threatening the Russians with military action now, after tanks were seen patrolling, or running through, the region.
World War 3?
I'm joking, I hate when people say that.
