Vlad's distraction fails! He's too far back; the starfighter does not go for him.
Kiu races ahead, almost within sight of the ships... and tyhe starfighter goes for him! But for once, it does not roll quite so well, and Kiu's blackened and smoking STAP is still just about staying in the air!

IF it's between me and Kiu then I'll distract, I've got less damage so I should be able to take it. Then that'll also give others the chance to catch up and become targets/let Kiu get to the ship, man a gun and blow that ship outta the sky.

Turret firing from a static positon on a starfighter makes you a sitting duck; he will just attack from outside the turret's firing arc. You gotta get these things up in the air!
Which ship are you heading for, Kiu?
Xeth distracts, takes a hit as others close in... (we'll also say the ship makes a run on Kiu and Vera but blows their STAP to pieces instead)
