The Shepherd chuckles, Xavier. It sounds hollow as it filters out from behind his mask.
"What of your other allies?" he asks, interested. "Would they do the same? Would they put you in Desall's position, the expendable tool?"

Impatient, Dak targets the Shaman, the rallying leader of the Magnesians, with his Saber Throw. You roll a 15... but the Shaman spends a Fortune point and ducks clear of the whirling blade, surprisingly agile for a frail old man.
The mercenaries do not take down many Magnesians this time, and the Epireans prepare for the clash...

Rianna rolls 9 and 19. Despite their portable shielding, she manages to slip past their guards and cut down two as they come towards her.
The Epirean follows you lead and lays into a Shepherd, his axe sinking into the victim with a fleshy thud.
The mercenaries fire back, shooting down one and wounding another. The Shepherds respond with some vicious slashes, killing two outright with skewerings and wounding two more. The turret mercenaries do not have a clear shot...
Rianna dances around six Shepherds that try to encircle her. She takes 5 damage but stays clear otherwise. Two Shepherds go after the Epirean, scoring two hits.

Rianna will continue hacking away at the Shepherds, snapping attacks on two more of them. She really couldn't care less about the mercenaries or the Epirean; they're just meat-shields to keep her clear for a little bit as far as she's concerned

"Such an existence goes against the Natural Order of the Galaxy," he says, his voice lofty and calm despite your obviously threatening approach.
He reaches towards his waist. For a minute you scoff at this gesture, knowing that his katana is on the floor behind you. But when he retrieves a lightsaber from a concealing pouch at his belt, the humor is lost. He ignites it in a sapphire flash.
"Allow me to set right the Balance of the Force," he says.
Xavier, off to the duel...

The mercenaries blast down a dozen of the natives as they move against you, breaking the wave before it crashes upon you, Dak, and giving you and your Epireans to strike first...

Rianna rolls 4 and 5... but re-rolls for 8 and 11! At first her lightsabers scratch faintly against her targets' shields, but the feint works and she slashes them down with sudden impalements. One survives, but just barely...
The Epirean violently hacks down one of his assailants, spraying blood everywhere.
A Shepherd is overwhelmed by blasterfire and brought down while another is wounded. However, one manages to reflect a laser back at a mercenary and brings him down. That one proceeds to then cut a mercenary cleanly in half. Another runs a mercenary through and drives him to the ground.
The leaders gesture for the others to focus on the mercenaries while the three of them try to take you on. A precise slash cuts into you for 10 damage and another skims you for 5, the Shepherds undeterred by your lightsabers.
A pair of Shepherds make a break for the turret-armed mercenaries. They are subsequently blown apart by heavy weapons fire.
The Epirean stays clear.

Rianna is going to strike at Shepherd A using Combination, expecting that the Epirean and remaining mercenaries should keep the rest busy.
"One of your little 'friends' tried to kill me on Skythros and failed...and that mistake is one that all of you will pay for," she comments, before driving her lightsaber towards the Shepherd.

Dak does not hesitate and plows into the warriors. He uses a re-roll to make sure that all four of his attacks are solid kills, his lightsabers sweeping through them without effort.
The battle around him becomes chaos as the mercenaries shoot in the warriors and warriors skewer mercenaries on their spears. An Epirean is killed, pierced in the heart by a spear, and falls near you.
The Shaman is watching you as the battle stirs around him.

Rianna badly burns her target across the chest for 28 damage. He is still standing and strikes back with a Quick Attack. Without a stated defense, I'll assume that Rianna is active dodging his attempt. He rolls 19 and she takes 7 damage.
B and C go after the turrets while everyone brawls. The Epirean hacks down a Shepherd and keeps on fighting while the last two mercs fight for their lives.

15, 16, 18, 11, Dak brings down another four. A Magnesian then blunders into you with his spear for 7 damage. Unimpressed, you let an Epirean hack him down as they escort you towards the Shaman.
The Shaman, however, responds by dropping low and sweeping out your feet from beneath you with his spear, rolling a 16 on a Trip, leaving you prone.

A 14 rolled brings him down as you follow up your attack with the Strike, your lightsaber burning a perfect hole directly through the center of his mask and his head. Before you tear it out the side, of course...
B dispatches a turret man with a Quick Attack while C's scrambles away, wounded. The mercs bring down one last Shepherd before the first is hit with throwing knives in the chest and the second is cut down.

Dak snarls in rage and leaps to his feet.
I don't remember how the prone rules work, so if I can attack the Shaman now I will do so. Active dodge to defend any more attacks like that.
Oh! If Dak can use Spin to target the Shaman specifically and then three Warriors, that'd be shiny and useful.

When proned, you cannot dodge. Blaster attacks are at -2 to hit, but close combat attacks get a bonus of +2 to hit. So when the Shaman steps back (he is not very fast...) and lets a group of warriors have at you, you are very thankful that three of them are hacked down by your Epirean bodyguards. Only one attack slips through as you leap to your feet, for 7 damage.
The Epireans fall under attack after they protect you. One drops, four are wounded but standing. The mercenaries are struggling while one finally brings the walker to bear...
And then you Spin! The Shaman dodges... a 13 misses! But your other three targets fall.

Shepherd B and Rianna charge each other down and clash in close combat... but only briefly, as Rianna rolls 19 and 9 and cleanly eviscerates him. She runs past him as he pitches forward in surprise.
The Epirean kills a Shepherd and is then killed itself, and the mercenary tries to get a hit on C but only has the blast reflected back in his face. Rianna takes a hit from a Shepherd for 8 damage.

Dak employs a Force Dodge against the Shaman's Quick Attack, blurring to one side. The Shaman rolled a 2... but the dodge carries Dak into the next sequence and refreshes his Force pool. The Epireans fail to bring down his assailants, and so he Defends against them and keeps clear.
The Shaman attacks again... once more sending Dak crashing to the floor by tripping him up in the midst of battle. No damage for the Shaman is weak, but Dak is prone again... uh oh. With the warriors amassing over Dak, he takes 31 damage in hits while the Shaman finishes off the Epireans.
The mercenaries are losing, but the walker is holding off some of the warriors. They lack a means of inflicting serious damage to it and are trying to climb up on it.
Dak is up on frame 28.

Rianna dodges C's clumsy lunge. Her Combination totally fails (with re-rolls!) when he wisely intercepts the attack with his shield. His minions try to come to the assist by Rianna passively stays clear.
