Those directors are very good choices but I'm a bit disappointed that Tarantino or Kubrick aren't even mention in that list. Oh well, it comes down to choice of the board members
There are two directors I believe are worth mentioning here. One of them is the legendary Akira Kurosawa. If you like Japanese cinema Akira's name is notorious. The other one is Fritz Lang a truly master of classic German movies during the 20s and the 30s (before WWII) a very good visionary and truly talented man during his era.

Peter Jackson! and Tim Burton!

Have you ever heard the saying "It's not quantity, it's quality"? Those 4 movies that he directed (and wrote) are considered 4 of the best films ever made (well, best directed, anyway). I think that him being so admirably recognized for just those 4 movies should be enough for him to be considered legendary, which he is. Don't be so narrow-minded
I think it's too soon to declare Tarentino as one of the best of all time, he's definately one of the best of our time...but of all time, that will take several more movies before we can say this with any certainty.
Yeh he can still flop. Well theres nothing special about Kill Bill's story.
Hated Pulp Fiction and didnt have the patience for Jackie Brown or whatever its called! So
I think the Editors in Tarantino's movies are the real artists. Thou he has some input in that of course but they do all the work.
There are no editors in Tarantino's movies. Just him. Yea he does have editors that actually do the physical act of editing, but they dont do the "what" factor of editing, just the "how" factor. Once he has his first director's cut, then he will not cut a single thing no matter what people say.
Also, Kill Bill has a fine story, I just think the real story is in Vol. 2.

Oh don't worry the list seems fine and maybe like you said the Moderator might edited. If so, there is another director I would like to also mention and that is Spike Lee!
Films like: Do the right thing, Malcom X, Get on the Bus, 25th hour, are truly good films. Who knows he might return with a good film pretty soon

Doubt it. He might say he wants it this way or that but they do all the work.
Doubt Tarantino could make it work that well. He shot the movie, he wouldnt be able to step back and put it together like that.
