They decided to do some lawn work around my apartment today at about noon. Loud as ****, and I couldn't fall back asleep. So, I read a little and now I'm here.
21st Century Breakdown is structured as a complete work, not just a handful of songs put together. Armstrong says that albums still matter and "I think about records like Revolver, Ziggy Stardust, Dark Side Of The Moon, London Calling…anything that felt like a complete piece of work. You need to be that ambitious and dream up these crazy concepts and albums. When you’re a kid, that’s the ultimate dream that you want… You want to create those monumental moments. In the past five years we’ve written the best songs of our career so far."
The 4 bonus tracks on iTunes have been announced, they are all covers:
- A Quick One While He's Away (Originally by The Who)
- Another State of Mind (Originally by Social Distortion)
- That's Alright Mama (Originally by Elvis) (pre-order only)
- Like a Rolling Stone (Originally by Bob Dylan) (pre-order only)
Shit, that Bob Dylan song is going to suck. Just like when My Chemical Romance did Desolation Row and completely ****ed it up. It's going to be just like that. Completely ****ed up and all around shit. Same with The Who song as well.
people wanted Green Day to sing about masturbation again and now they're kinda doing it
their cover of i fought the law didn't suck and i bet none of these covers will and i hope that they get used in some comic movie soundtrack that you like just to piss you off some more
