When I was little my grandma had a cat named Lucy and it would always attack me. And I wasn't one of those kids who would play with a cat and unintentionally be too rough and end up pissing it off. I actively avoided her but she would stalk me.
She especially enjoyed hiding under the dining room table and then springing forth from under it when I would walk by and scratch my legs. I know for a fact other people walked by that table unharmed.
