I'm literally a disability education specialist, lol. I actually do heavily lessen the impact of their disabilities and give them the freedom to learn like anyone else. Part of my job is, in fact, mostly not 'helping them', or being too present in lessons, but creating the circumstances for them to work independently. I'm also apparently very good at it.
