Yep that was me! So, here's my account of everything:
So not only was that my first show ever of any type, it will probably go down in my mind as the BEST! I mean, it would be really hard to recreate or be beat! As I said before, me and letterbomb815 got there to the line at about 2 PM, and we were about 30-40 people back.. At some point securiity came around with their intimidation talk about cameras, which we sadly believed. (We could have easily got them in.) Unfortunately (and fortunately for some), they did not end up doing a seperate line for people who got their tickets through Idiot Club, so that made the long wait worth it even more. So about 7:40 we were in, and I was able to get on the 2nd row of people on the floor. I ended up being about 5 ft from Billies make, a bit to the left.
I talked with jnine13 and a guy from New Jeresy until the show started until about 9:30ish? Then at some point, we could hear Billie singing Song of the Century from backstage. Then the band came on and launched into their set. It was all very fun, and during one of the 21st CB songs I was able to pass a letter I'd written up to Billie (though it was left on the stage at the end of the show, no clue if they'll ever get to read it). I was a little sad there was no Viva La Gloria! but I was so thrilled by what they did play, I didn't really care too much.
Then during the second half, several incredible things happened: First I got pushed to the front on the barricade when the guy from New Jersey was brought up on stage to sing Longview. Shortly after, Billie came by leaned in, and not only gave me one of his picks (which seems to be from the AI tour), but I let me strum Blue while he did the chords (sadly I was in such shock, I completely forgot the rhythm for that part of the song, and Billie seemed maybe a bit annoyed by that?) So that was amazing, but also during King For A Day we wore my John Lennon style sun glasses, and even managed to throw them back to me!
Despite having to constantly keep those behind me from pushing me out of the way (thought that was not unexpected), and having a hard time hearing many of the vocals, I still had an amazing time! Now I'm just sad to have to head back to Utah, I wish I could stay for Kevin and Bacon (letterbomb and myself would have been able to get in), the combo of Last Night and the Hot Topic signing made it an incredible trip. I do have a few photos from my phone, many are blurry because of being pushed around, but a few are decent. I'll have to post later though. Just thought I'd share all of this with you guys! Maybe I'll come out to their Fonda show for the next album.
