Sneak up behind someone and hold down the Mele attack button for about a second.
Anyone know if there is an assassin spree medal? I was trying to find out and assassinated 4 people in a row, but was betrayed while assassinating the final person.

Its been like that for a while now. I saw the 250K + numbers on the beta and I almost choked. Did you get to try any armor abilities? The Elite roll is among the funniest and most useful ones. In fact is very versatile for varying situations.

The DMR is teh r godlyz! So is the new version of the Plasma Rifle. Much much better man. Anyone done any nice things with armor abilities? I am mainly sticking to the sprint because that was a feature I always wanted in Halo, and because I've been playing MW2 a lot the last couple of months so I'm used to sprinting about. I like how no AA is entirely abusable for the moment(exceptt the elite's roll but meh that is the only AA they get in the beta so far so it needs to be up there with the rest of them), but all the jetpacking in powerhouse makes me lol.
Don't try to get close to anyone during the armorlock animation. It will drain your shields and leave you completely vulnerable to a beatdown. Instead just time it so you can stick them as they come out of the animation.

from most favorite to least: stalker, scout, jetpack, armorlock.
scout when use correctly can be reeeally good to confuse the enemy team. i was playing a team slayer match on powerhouse and my three allies all left halfway through so it was 4v1. stalker is really good for situations like that because it allows you to do hit and run types of things. i lost but only by three kills.

ugh.. this game still has everything thats wrong with halo...
-nade spamming garbage..
-easy retard sniping, that rewards your friendly neighborhood mongoloid
-rocket launcher, now with an even BIGGER blast radius.. because that was totally necessary
-having to spend half a clip in someone, then meleeing them.. and its STILL not enough?.. the hell do I have to do for someone to drop dead?.. literally I find myself meleeing someone around 3 times, and this is just ridiculous considering how precious each second of battle is
-----------------------------------
Reach related :
-k so.. every other spec gets to do their shit in mid air.. except for armor lock.. I guess its just TOO op to hope for some kind of immunity, that I'm spec'ed for, while I'm either falling off a ledge or what have you, even though I'm not doing any damage to anyone, and I have to drop objective based tools to use.. retarded
-the BR scope, and the needle rifle... they really dont do enough damage.. I can kill people faster with a needler that travels twice as slow more reliably..and the assault rifle is back to being garbage again
-retarded cutscene kills.. I guess noone learned their lesson from AvP, and this usually turns into a 10 people long assassination gangbang.. what is the point of even doing this, when you can 1 shot them in less than a second and keep moving? extreeeeemely pointless feature
-the sword house map just sucks to me.. it doesnt flow.. and you usually get spawned way too far from whatever it is you have to do, despite being offered a measly 3 seconds to decide who you wish to spawn near
-wtf @ the sound.. I cant even hear my own footsteps.. but I can hear some dude gettin sniped halfway across the map.. really annoying in a genre where audio cues can save you
-------------
good stuff :
-love the spec choices.. jet pack is probably the laziest offering to me, and could have had more thought put into it.. there probably could have also been shield and HP differences between each spec, IMO
-the speed of the action seems to have gotten faster.. it doesnt feel like I'm running for 10 years to get somewhere, and I dont feel like I'm floating 15 feet into the air by pressin jump
-the new weapon offerings (as well as the refurbished familiars) are all very fun to play with.. despite some of them needing more tuning
-being able to save someone from getting assassinated.. should you kill someone before the knife goes in, your ally gets to walk away (yet another reason assassination is pointless).. awesome.. wanted this in gears, but was sadly denied
-lovin the graphical overhaul.. the armor system seems ok.. (even though randomly some of the uglier looking gear is more expensive o_O)
Just my 2 cents.. its not my wish to offend, so apologies in advance..
Thanks. Once I figured it out it was fun stabbing people while using stalker. I dont like how they seem to have downgraded the BR. It feels like the FAL (mw2). Flying behind an opponent and then hammering down with the grav hammer is a lot of fun too!

because theres still 4 (I only got to hold it for a few seconds before I got lol'ed by nade spam) rounds in the damn thing and it really only takes 1 to kill someone.. and theres no cooldown in between shots.. its basically the sniping system I've always despised..
they really shoulda just had the damn covenant beam rifle.. that was very balanced.. you had to pay attention and not spam shots or else you got punished with overheat
also I think the invisible class. (infiltrator?).. when they do an assassination, it should not break their invisibility.. i mean theres already a damn radar which makes the game easymode anyways.. to help this change.. have the melee button react to negative edge.. (have the melee come out on release instead of press.. this way you dont swing and break your stealth but instead get the assasination and keep moving

Well I just got an invite for the beta for some reason, downloading now. I tend to agree with most of what Sats said about the problems Halo MP has, but we'll see how this goes.
In fact I really agree with what you say about the sniper rifle. I've never liked the auto type sniper rifles. It's much more satisfying when it's something like the AWP from CS, where there is a bit of time between each shot. Makes killing someone with it 1) more satisfying and 2) more challenging.

It is not really the BR. They always hated weapons like the Halo 1 pistol and Halo 2 BR. They nerfed the br in H3 and it still came out on top.
With the DMR you need to wait a bit before taking your second shot to keep your aiming reticle at a decent range. If you go all out it widens and your shots go to hell. It definitely takes a lot more skill to use. The fact it is just 1 shot makes it less noob friendly like the BR in H2/3.
Case in point look at the Carbine. By all means the best weapon H2/H3 but you need to make every single shot count which is why everyone pretty much always choose the BR over the Carbine. Headshotting with the BR was easier.
===
All in all I think the guns feel pretty balanced right now. The shotty is beast now, but not OP. The sprint really helps these secondary weapons. I usually go with DMR/Sword DMR/Shotgun. The DMR is not an all purpose weapon like the BR. You will get raped if you are not on point and since you need to slow your firerate in order to get accurate shots like a BR it becomes more tricky with all the different armor abilities like Armorlock, sprint and even the jetpack.
I like the armor abilities. It adds that certain tension and adrenaline thinking what the hell the other guy got planned.
I am currently whoring the Rockets in Powerhouse. Helps dealing with jetpacks/camo/sprinters.

For once I'm actually excited about the new weapons in this game. The beam rifle, grenade launcher and covenant grenade launcher (name anyone?) amongst others are all awesome additions to the weapons arsenal.
I love the armor abilities but I seriously think that camo needs some sort of an upgrade. Maybe if it could jam motion trackers when an enemy gets close similar to MW? Anyway, the jet pack as I suspected is my favorite. Halo has always been about having the height advantage over your enemies... and the ability to fly helps that strategy.
Anyone know if Bungie is releasing the other two maps that were shown in the beta preview? The two maps so far are great but I was hoping for some big team slayer before november.

I really like the new look of all the guns. They all look more dangerous, not like little plastic toys, but actual guns. And the new sounds they make all have more 'pop'. They feel powerful. This is something long overdue in this series. The assault rifle no longer feels like it's firing pellets.
