Also a bunch of my friends/fellow guild members teamed up and did that Weyandt's Revenge jumping puzzle. I swear I'm going to keep a damn torch or fiery dragon sword on me at all times because the pitch-black stretch of that was damn-near impossible until I started using my AoE attacks to figure out where the ground was.
I would've had that but I moved not long before it came out and gamestop wanted to be extremely difficult about changing the address even though it hadn't been shipped yet. They made me cancel the order and place a new one ... but didn't process my cancel till later a few days later and cancelled both.
Did Ascalon Catacombs tonight with some guildmates, and that dungeon was way easier than I had expected. The only real trouble we had was with the first non-popup ghost group, because we accidentally got all of them at once and then stupidly ignored the elementalist. Whoops. Other than that though it was a very smooth run. Bosses were almost too easy.
I think we also put proof to the fact that any profession is viable for anything - I was on my Mesmer (of course), going primarily support-based (but also with my greatsword for some damage and minor control), and we had a necro (offense/support), guardian (offense), engineer (crowd control), and ranger (crowd control/offense) as our group.
We also had way too much fun finding all of the boulders and using them to beat the crap out of enemies. Nothing like nailing Adelbern in the head with a rock!
Oh great- they finally get the Trading Post up for a sustained period, and just when I blow a fortune on the stuff I need the whole game server collapses. Doh!

Incidentally, I see they have stopped selling the game on their website (you can still buy third party). Apparently they are over-selling, as it were, so they are restricting sales whilst they try and get everything under control.
The game plays, that's for sure, so this could be worse, but they have had a rocky launch.

Playing the game, experiencing lots of fun with it so far. They did good with the multi-path quest completion, allows one to accomplish things their own way. Using the warrior right now, very responsive gameplay on the melee class, unless it lags, of course.
If I have any complaint is that I'm having problems questing with my friends as we keep getting tossed into the overflow... Too many ppl playing, I guess.
There's a way to get around that - If you're in a party together, then right-click their icon and select join in. It doesn't work 100% of the time but it does pretty reliably.
Also, the higher level an area is, the less likely there'll be an overflow. I haven't seen one past Lormar's Pass, and that zone only has one sometimes.
Hit level 51 yesterday and I'm very close to 52. The trading post was up for a while, but the stuff I need to continue with crafting was waaaaay too expensive...still, I got tailoring close to 150 and artificer in the 60s before I ran out again.
Indeed the overflow/friends situation (an issue that was raised in the first beta weekend) is meant to be solved by the party function but it's not been working 100%.
My main character is mid-50s but I am slowing off on him now in favour of some alts due not wanting to rush the plot and also waiting for friends to catch up as I like to play with others (and until guesting is turned on I cannot play with Peach). I also want a chance to actually craft stuff and use it before I finish the run to 80, which I cannot practically do until the trading post comes up.
I waited half a year before finishing a plotline in GW so I am in no enormous rush.

I'm actually taking it easy. Thing is, they put too much xp gain on profs and lvling 2 profs to max gives so much xp, and farming is actually fun to do, my char lvl just skyrocketed before I even realized it. I'm one of them ppl that love the whole crafting/farming grind.
My only complaint is that some items are downright impossible to farm due to so many players camping the spawn spots that the TP (w/c is always down) becomes essential to get thru crafting lvling "walls".
