Are you serious now? The annoying piece of crap actor who is taped to every girl's locker room in every high school is going to be Spiderman?

We need someone who physically does not look strong, but rather nimble and athletic in a slender kind of way. He's also not supposed to look gloomy or menacing, but rather outgoing and silly yet with maturity to back all that up.

I don't know why, but Shia does not seem to be an appropriate actor for Spiderman. I think it's because he has that sort of body build that kind of makes him seem short, while I always portrayed Peter Parker to have a lanky type of body build. And then theres the fact that his eyes or face do not portray enough maturity behind them to play the important, dramatic parts of Spiderman's life.

Lautner as Parker/Spiderman is one romor that seems to have staying power, but nothing has been announced just yet

Yeah, the comics are supposed to be colorful and cartoony...but the movie was way too saturated in unnatural colors.

Dafoe played Goblin great, I'll give you that, but the costume is NOT the Green Goblin, it was Master Chief with a new helmet.

Kirsten Dunst can be cute, but not as a red head and definitely NOT as Mary Jane. She played the character completely wrong.

There was a bit of Spider-Man's humor, but nothing like the comics. Instead we got humor from Spidey falling or his powers faltering, we really didn't get his sarcastic humor in the middle of fights with his villains.

Yup, you're nitpicking.

I don't even see you arguing your case, you're just saying I'm being nitpicky because you can't prove me wrong.

Lance, agreed with everything you said (not the best MJ, not enough humor, Defoe etc) except GG costume, it wasn't perfect but it would've been worse if it was like in the comics, at least this one kinda looked like armor, purple underwear just wont work in a movie...

I wouldn't expect the costume to look just like in the comics, but I think they still could have made it much better. Why would the military need a flight helmet which looked like a goblin face? That really made no sense to me.

I think there was no helmet, Osborn made it after he "stole" the glider. When they were testing it in the beginning there was no helmet.

The testing was also done in a controlled environment and not in full assault use yet.

How would he make that helmet himself?

Dunno, but reminds me of a certain Randomguy video from youtube with GG talking to Luthor:
"See this Lex? This is a pumpkin bomb. I came up with it off-screen, built it off-screen, then I blew up a building with it. And then my movie made twice as much as your did." big grin

i know, that was really stupid.there was a pic posted sometime back on how the goblin costume without looking exactly like the goblin costume from the comics would have looked good on screen years back, maybe I could find it.Yeah for some reason, the spiderman movie apologists when you dish the costume, they always put words in your mouth that you want it exactly like the one in the comics when thats not the case at all.

Like I had no problem with the costume being metal like it was,as long as he had put purple clothing over it to resemble a goblin later on.Being ALL green like that,he looked more like those an alien from outer space like the ones hollywood has shown in movies back in the early days.

If you mean me, I didn't "put anything in anyone's mouth" only said it's better than purple underwear and it is for a movie.

To be honest, I'm glad.

Spider-Man 2 was the best of the three, only because of Doc Ock.

Here's to hoping for a better cast, continuity, and non-organic web shooters (for Mr. Parker! wink )

Also, Kirsten Dunst is pretty, I have to admit, but she is, and never will be, worthy of portraying of Mary Jane Watson.

Dude, why are you so hung up on a stupid rumor started by Twilight fans? The studio has said NOTHING about who they are looking at.

yeah SM 2 was the ONLY one that was any good at all.How it ended was the thing that really took away the joy of it MJ finding out his identity.Dunst was pretty in sm1 but she got butt ugly looking in sm 2.

That took away the thrill of what you got to see in the comics when he always had MJ and Gwen mad at him cause he had to run off as spidey to save the day and leave them alone. If they had just kept his secret from MJ they could have done some of those things in sm3. mad

and yes lets hope we FINALLY get to see the character of SPIDER-MAN on the screen now instead of this phony neautered version of sonys MAN-SPIDER.please no more man-spider movies saying its a spider-man movie anymore. mad

I still dont like the idea of a Spider-Man Reboot since the series is only 8 years old.

Yeah thats what I was saying,as much as I LOVE it that they are rebooting it like they need to,its too soon to be doing that.they need to wait i think like a decade or so before doing that like Batman Begins did.People are going to get the wrong idea even with a new peter parker and new director, thats its just another continuation and with the bad taste of the last movie still in their mouth, they wont be anxious to line up and see it.

Heck the average moviegoer who wasnt on the net thought Batman Begins was another continuation sequal of the Batman series and they waited a lot longer than they are here to reboot it.Wasnt till it came out on cable and DVD that people started to realise it wasnt then fortunately after realising that, next time around they lined up in droves to see The Dark Knight as word got around how excellent Batman Begins was.Hopefully same happens with the spidey reboot as well.crossing my finger that this reboot redeems itself for that horrid SM1.
